I'm going to politely disagree with Airbender. I don't think ANYONE should have an RNY, and I'm willing to bet that in the no-too-distant future they will no longer be offered as a WLS option. They are just too ineffective, especially for people with high BMI's.

I poo 2-3 times a day depending on what i eat, possibly more if i've gone hog wild on some particular food. I'm 19 months out. My poo stinks. Oh, wait: poo ALWAYS stinks, and with RNY too. hm.
You can put weight back on if you try really really hard, or so I've heard. You'd have to eat a ****load of carbs. But, since we can eat high fat diets, it's really satisfying to be able to butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese, and other high fat delights to our heart's content.
My surgery and recovery were just -- pardon the expression -- a piece of cake. I started out at 290 and I'm a svelt 168.
