Topic: RE: I never knew you grew balls when you had the DS...
I think when we can say something calmly to someone's face, not go off in anger or a rant, we have about a million times more effect.  Let's make a pact to Absolutely Be  A Tremendous, Powerful ***** to anyone who thinks we're one anyway.

Topic: RE: I never knew you grew balls when you had the DS...
Good for you, Julie.  And each time you find the power within yourself to say something that needs to be said right to somebody's face, it strengthens you to do it again.  I'm not sure it's the DS, it may also have something to do with our age.  Sometimes all the **** life piles on us just becomes too much to bear, and we finally lose our inhibitions/shyness/weakness and say what we want to say.

I can feel this in myself, too.  A small example is, me heading for a line in a grocery store when a lady ZOOMS past me to get in front of me, and as I stood in line behind her, she turned slightly toward me and I calmly said, "That was rude of you, wasn't it?"  She couldn't respond.

And, if my husband's children dare turn up at his funeral after he dies, probably due to complications of his Parkinson's, in the probably not too distant future, and them not bothering to call or visit him for months and years on end, oh, I will absolutely have something to say directly to their faces, and in front of as many people as possible.

yah, i'm with Charlee on this.  too often I take the high road -- and often for the wrong reasons.  Now this is just me -- but I "avoid confrontation" or "want people to like me."  Thank you for the inspiration to "give as good as you get."   Some of us just learn to be a little more of a ***** so as to make it harder for other people to mow us down.  At the very least, you can get eye to eye with her, stick your finger in her ******g face, and inform her that's it time for her to lay off you, that you've taken enough of her **** and you're sick of it and her.

A bunch of us DSers have a "closed" group on Facebook. You have to request to be let in and I'll let you in.  We are supportive and don't allow flaming.  I think the most that would show on your home page would be "OH DS Family Group"  -- nothing about any of your posts would show to your FB friends.

yes, look how much closer your arms are to you body, you look way more "up and down" than sideways.  And, btw, you carry your weight very well, you might night need to get all the way down to your goal to look absolutely fabulous,

Topic: RE: from lapband to DS feb 1st... I need some reassurance
I had some hair loss at 4-6 months out, not that bad, and the loss came to a halt.  I have a ****load of hair so nobody noticed except me.  AND-- GET THIS -- the new hair IS WAVY!!!!!!  Wow!!  i loves it.

Chronic diarrhea?  nope.

Total success here.  Easy surgery.  Easy recovery.  No problems, sorry.  Down from 290 to 168.

Topic: RE: please help! DS or RNY?
I'm going to politely disagree with Airbender.  I don't think ANYONE should have an RNY, and I'm willing to bet that in the no-too-distant future they will no longer be offered as a WLS option.  They are just too ineffective, especially for people with high BMI's.

I'm glad your research is continuing.  Be sure to read www.dsfacts.com and www.duodenalswitch.com too .

I poo 2-3 times a day depending on what i eat, possibly more if i've gone hog wild on some particular food.  I'm 19 months out.  My poo stinks.  Oh, wait:  poo ALWAYS stinks, and with RNY too.  hm.

You can put weight back on if you try really really hard, or so I've heard.  You'd have to eat a ****load of carbs.  But, since we can eat high fat diets, it's really satisfying to be able to butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese, and other high fat delights to our heart's content.

My surgery and recovery were just -- pardon the expression -- a piece of cake.  I started out at 290 and I'm a svelt 168.

keep researching doll,
