Topic: RE: Sudafed Check

I use the regular Sudafed - the ID one.  Actually its Walmart's generic brand.

Topic: RE: Okay, one more question...

Lynda, what steps do you take now for your constipation, specifically?

Topic: RE: calcium question

they say no more than 600 at a time, I don't know if anyone has any proof for that????  Calcium is suppose to be a bit of a hog with other minerals  for the receptors, I've heard ...

Topic: RE: Vitamin A deficiency

lacognata, I know you said you have tried everything, but have you tried taking 100k dry A in the middle of the night (without any food).  This technique helped me get my D levels up.

Topic: RE: Stevia and Diarrhea ?

yep, Stevia did the same to me. :o(  Splenda and Equal work fine.

Topic: RE: Vitamins

how many batches are you taking per day?   It might be one particular one that is bothering you, like zinc, for instance. But I think it would be fine to spread them out during 15 to 30 minutes after a meal.  Just don't forget.  I have often made the mistake of trying to get my vitamins down when there just wasn't enough room left in my tummy.  I felt likedevil  And you might want to disolve Calcium Citrate horse pills on a spoon with a little water.

Topic: RE: Toxicity and vitamins

Hi Jazzy,  If you think your lab missed running a lab test that was on the orders, just tell them and they will do it without you having to get new lab orders.  That happened to me once.

I'd go with the 100K daily...just from my own experience with getting my D up. I was too conservative initally.

Topic: RE: What does an elevated vitamin D 1,25 mean?

Hi Becky, you might like to read this:

It would seem to agree with your endo's statement.

As far as you bf's GP, I've been hearing a lot of talk about normies getting their Calcium from food more so than supplements.  Maybe this GP is of that school....

Topic: RE: vitalady call very upsetting

leanmama, hey, it's like that song "So you had a bad day."

Maybe Michelle did, too.  I happens to all of us, right?  So just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and move on.

I remember the day Scott ask Vitalady to come to our board and I've got to say that since then I've been singing "Halleluiah!"

Topic: RE: Revision to DS set 5/8/13 with Dr Stewart

Of all the words of advice, I think if you can only remember one thing the first couple days, remember

sip, sip sip

Just lots of tiny sips add up.  Dehydration is bad news, so try to avoid it.  When you get home, even set an alarm to wake yourself up to sip. Otherwise you will sleep way too long.

Best of luck!

Topic: RE: The time has come

starlightlu, I'm sending lots of positive vibes your way!

Topic: RE: Calcium crisis! PTH Intact =142 H-E-L-P!!!!!

What time of day was the blood drawn for your latest PTH?

Topic: RE: Sensible Strontim Dosage?

Interesting tidbit in here about the dosage used in a 1981 study of Strontium Gluconate....

Topic: RE: 1 Week After Surgery

thats great!  You'll be surprising even yourself!

Topic: RE: Surgery went well!!

how great!  Check in often and let us know how you are doing!

Topic: RE: What's the point of a gastroenterologist?

??? seems like you should have been referred to a hemotologist

Topic: RE: Home from plastics.

Aww, bean, I'm sorry.  You just call that doc and demand something that will help.  Be a real pain in the arse.  Opps, poor choice of words, huh?

Topic: RE: Odor

Estherjane, I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  I hope things will get a little better for you as time passes.  It must be hard.  I ususally light several matches and candles and blow them out and then repeat untill there is a little smoke in the room and that covers up the bad smell.   It will float through the house, too.

Topic: RE: Gerd before DS surgery, How bad does it get after

Mine went away.  Hope yours does, too.

Topic: RE: Asking all vets: High Fat or Low Fat?

I'm not quite constipated, but it's definitely a struggle, if you know what I mean!!

Barb, let that be a big red flag.  If its a struggle now, you are headed for trouble.  Trouble you don't want like hemoroids and tears.  One day it will just happen and then it is too late.  It's not a slow process.  Eat some butter, mayo, oil, or whatever now.

Topic: RE: Dr. M. Gagner, Montreal, anyone had him as a surgeon?

Yeah, I'm sure I did.  But you can call the Westmount Surgical Centre and ask what they charge.

Topic: RE: I guess my DS is working

DS glitter is fluttering down on you!

Topic: RE: and now the nausea.

Get some Zofran, or something.  In the mean time try ginger tea or peppermint. Don't get dehydrated, it will just make it worse.  Hope you feel better soon.  :o)

Topic: RE: DS WENT WELL/Home

It's great to hear you are doing well and home from the hospital.  With the pain pills, you may find yourself sleeping too long without fluids.  You can set an alarm to get up and just drink.  Keep us posted on how you are doing.  :o)
