We're living in the country now...raising cows (for beef and milk), chickens (meat and eggs) and pigs! Planted a big garden, but it'll take a while before we reap the benefits from it! :-)
It is so fun and rewarding to milk our cow, then be able to enjoy the fresh milk, butter, yogurt and cheese - knowing it's all hormone/antibiotic free! Grass fed beef - and milk - is soooo delicious!!
We ARE living the dream!! Still, it's a lot of work - and there are no days off. :-)
Want to touch base here.... and be active in the forum again. I know how much this place can mean to someone with questions - or just needs encouragement / support!
We are blessed to have you persevere, Gina! (((hugs)))
Love, Julie
P.S. I aim for 150g protein/day and am fortunate to not need to count carbs. Most carbs are veggies and fruits..... and working hard outside helps burn them off! :-)
