     You are on a diet and constantly repeating Why am I not losing weight? Perhaps you are doing typical mistakes. Experts believe that even being on a diet, you consume more calories than you think. First, stop thinking about your diet and stop creating panic and say all Why am I not losing weight. Instead, carefully examine your daily habits in order to understand what causes weight gain. You can not even imagine how quickly recruited calories.

    Spoon sauce salad adds 75-100 calories, teaspoon butter - 102 calories, a bag of chips - 162 calories. If you frequently add all of this food, even if you can not find the answer to the question Why am I not losing weight, and everything is so clear.

    There are typical mistakes that are often committed by people who lose weight.

    Mistake number 1: The race to the finish.

    There is no reward for the end of the meal in record time. Unfortunately, our hectic lifestyles led us to the fact that we have developed the unhealthy habit of eating quickly. "We need to learn to eat slowly, then we can enjoy food and feel saturated.

    Mistake number 2: skipping meals.

    Studies show that those who skip breakfast weigh more than those who ate breakfast. There is an incorrect belief that skipping breakfast or any meal helps you save calories. The truth is that those who eat at least three times a day, eventually consume more calories during the day.

    Mistake number 3: too many liquid calories.

    Liquid calories from alcohol, milkshakes, coffee with cream and sugar, sweet juice, tea and carbonated beverages may contribute to weight gain. One recent study found that Americans receive about 21% of calories from beverages. Go to the drinks with a lot of calories for water, soda water, skim milk, vegetable juices and small servings of 100% fruit juice.

    Mistake number 4: too large portions.

    We are so accustomed to big portions in restaurants, at home we serve the food of the same size and think that it normal. Some expert advice on how to reduce portions:

    • Do not eat up until the end of that on a plate.

    • Use smaller dishes.

    Mistake number 5: thoughtless food.

    "Amnesia for food" - an act of unthinking presentation to hand to yur mouth, especially from the bag or box in front of TV or while reading the book. This can also happen when you simply relax or eat up the children. Resist the temptation to eat up with her or with other people's plates. Think about your waist instead of leftover food to spare.

    What the hell is up with all the people who have THE ANSWERS and just NEED to tell everyone on A FAILED SURGERY BOARD about it?

    I had a surgery that screwed up my guts. I couldn't eat solid food for 2 years. NOW I can't lose weight because I HAVE NO TOOL and my METABOLISM is "broken."

    This is the FAILED SURGERY BOARD. Surgeries that have FAILED. Not people who have failed because they are choosing to overeat or eating thoughtlessly. THE SURGERIES FAILED.

    ps. I've never felt "saturated" from eating, either. I believe you might mean "satiated."

    I don't know, but now I want some just because I'm already failing because of all the stupid things I do, apparently. *gonna go eat up my children now*  Felonies!!!! Yea!

    I admit that I may have been a bit more jerky than I should have been. I had gotten home from working out, I was hungry (as I always am!) and it was the last thing I wanted to read... how all I needed to do was work a little harder.  

    The BMI of 22.99 explains a few things. Thin people always have all the answers for us overweight ones. I'm thinking I might have to join an Olympic athletes board and start giving out advice on how they should be training!

     Funny ,but I read it as someone who was trying to help who is a native speaker  another country , speaks and writes English amazingly well but has translation issues ....

    Im from Hungary originally ( Moldavia is next door and USED to be a part of Hungary before it was partitioned off ost world war I and world war II ) .  Very few people have significant weight issues there .....

    When people from Hungary ( and Europe in general )  come here to visit they can't believe the size of the highways , the cars , the big box stores and PARTICULARLY the size of overweight Americans .

    They don't judge - they are AMAZED .  The reason I bring this up is being bi- cultural ( and going back most summers fora few months ) I have experience  with what is DIFFERENT .  

    For one thing until LATELY when German stores bought ready made cookies etc into popular usage there were virtually no hidden fats in foods .

     Hungarian /Chech cooking is fatty - but most people cook a leaner  version in real life -- without the "IVOO" ,fattening salad dressings  and fried foods  ( and sugar ) that cooks routinely add here . 

    Also people don't eat fast food regularly - its a rare special treat - but of course that too is changing - and Hungarians are complaining that this latest generation of children is SO OBESE !!  (nothing like kids here though) 

    I don't think someone from Europe can realize the PROFUNDITY of the problem here however ....the virtual IMPOSSIBILITY of Losing and keeping off 100 or more lbs and then also having a life .....  and how bariatric surgery is really a necessity for us.

    But i don't think his suggestions are altogether WRONG ....

    I DO think we need to change our THINKING gradually - and eventually eat like thin people to become  and REMAIN thin people . The surgery gives us the tool we must have in order to do that , but it still requires DISCIPLINE , still requires HARD WORK every single day .

    I just thank GOD He chose to show me  a way OUT .

It's NOT just a matter of eating the right things or "discipline."   Some of us now have guts that are so screwed up from the "tool" we were given and it feels like a slap in the face every time someone comes on and tells us that we just need to work at it... ya know, when THEY have the tools to be able to do just that.

    That's what bothers me.  I DO work at it and I don't need someone coming onto a Failed Surgery Board telling me that *I* failed, not my surgery. Because it's the other way around. Would you go into a hospital and tell someone who just had a rejected heart transplant that all they needed to do was start thinking positive and work harder at accepting that new organ? I would hope not, anyway. I see it the same way.
     
    I had a surgery that didn't work for me and in fact almost killed me and now I'm left struggling and wanting to simply talk to other people who are in the same boat. Meanwhile, I have to sort through all the posters who tell us how easily they lose weight because they don't eat sugar. I'm happy for the success of others, but this board, just because of the very nature of it (FAILED) might not be the place to gloat about it.

    I  think I can see how you feel.

    I had my surgery and 3 months out I had lost 70 pounds.    That's when I stopped losing.   I wasn't eating that much, I wasn't eating the wrong things, the weight loss just stopped.

    I still need to lose 40 pounds to reach the surgeons goal and 100 pounds to my goal.

    I struggle, I don't yak on sugar.   I want the same things I wanted before and if I don't have them I feel crappy. 

    So now I'm drugging myself to death to sleep 12 hours a day and work another 9 hours a day.  The workplace makes it hard not to eat.   At home I have my DH nagging me not to 'blow up ' again.

    But still we all go on.    Dreams are crushed, this was the last chance.  There isn't anything else.   So I sit on my fat butt and work, try to eat fruit instead of chocolates.  Protein still hard to digest. 
    Colonoscopy showed a lot of inflammation , the pics were mind blowing.

    I don't go back and see my surgeon, self esteem issues, I feel like "I" failed so he wouldn't want to see me again.

    Just waiting for life to be over at this point.

     Sorry, N.M, gloating or bragging was NOT my intention at all .  I totally understand how frustrating the situation is for You and so many others who post  on here .  

    I can relate because for so many years I ate with extreme discipline, exercised , attended ( and worked ) the twelve steps of OA and STILL saw my weight creep up ever so slowly despite herculean efforts .... and even , lately my health significantly deteriorate .

    I have ( and continue to have ) severe metabolic disorder , crippling  chronic asthma so bad the government approved me for disability the first time I applied without any argument ... so I KNOW from personal experience how hard ( virtually impossible ) it is to lose weight when U are mobility impaired ,sick etc.   

    My life only SOUNDS like a bed of roses now ....it has been very difficult at times .

       Precisely because I HAVE gone through these experiences and regained my health ( fighting my illness every single babystep of the way for YEARS  and then lost weight miraculously , finally with the help of this amazing tool(  but also discipline  and a LIFETIME  of research and experimentation with nutrition to find what actually WORKS  long term)  do I feel I now enough  to actually possibly be able to help others escape the cruel prison , even  death sentence imposed on us by our excess weight  . 

    I am only trying to help however I can - and if my posts help a single person here ..... I  ( and they) will  thank God.

    I'm happy for you.  Honest, I am. I'm happy for everyone who has success.

    I didn't necessarily mean "you" as in you personally in my last post... more the "general you."

    In spite of my guts being all screwed up, I am able to exercise and have no mobility problems. I really have no complaints about my life at all, except for the fact that I had lapband surgery and it damaged me. But, I'm grateful simply to be alive today. I might weigh more than I did in the past, but I feel alive now, at least. And that's not something that I take for granted anymore.

    I've got one for you guys. I had a VSG on 3-2-10 and I have only lost 7 lbs since I left the hospital. It is a mystery to me. I am active, I spend a fortune on protein bullets, vitamins, eat like a bird. What gives? I go tomorrow for my 6 week checkup. Can't wait to ask "what tha?" I've got news for you.......I could have skipped lunch on Monday in my "old body" and lost at least 5 lbs! Why did I have to pay $12,000 and lose a body part?

    I'd say that something is definitely "off" in your situation.  And I hope you find out WHY. I know, no one ever said that life is fair, but c'mon!
