    Sandusky, Ohio

Alrighty now, someone help me out. Just get from Disney this past week and I begin speaking with a relative, my cousin Mark, that says the only thing ol' DW lacks is real adult rides. You know, roller coasters, screaming speed rides, etc. So I start to ramble on about Universal City, also located in Orlando just across the city. Mark, says not so fast my dear cuz, my sources tell me the place to go for all the thrill rides is Sandusky, Ohio. Sandusky is the home of CedarPoint Park and it is known as the roller coaster capital of the US. They currently have 16 roller coasters and other hair raising rides. I reply, never heard of it. So do tell my OH.com friends, is cousin Mark's contact correct? Is Sandusky, OH the place to go to find hair scorching, fast as lightening, pulling more g(s) than an astronaut at NASA type of rides. Come on now, those that are in the know, please advise.... Ron

Sas, Are we into golden showers? What, what is that? Ewwwwwwwww! Sorry Dear, It was Jay that brought it up.
Cedar Point it is... the halloween season is the scariest .... fun.....fun.....fun.... i like Disney better though.......not much coaster fans here....
Oh, not knocking Disney at all, had a blast. But ready to move on to the greased lightening stuff. I have always loved roller coasters, even as a small child. I used to cry when I was too short to ride the big boy rides at Six Flags over Texas. I love the Titan, Texas Giant, Batman, Mr. Freeze, Runaway Mine Train, the Shockwave, Cliff Hanger, The Judge Roy Scream and anything else that makes most black out. Cathy loves these rides as well. And now since GBS we both can fit. Awesome Baby! When I was a very young kid, us boys used to take a young sapling tree and bend it to the ground and have one of us hop on. Then release and it would throw you or beat the heck out of ya. I always wanted to be the one that hopped on. At 6 years of age I used to get on top of my Grandpa's cinder block fence and grab a handful of wheeping willow vines and swing way out in the air and jump for the peach tree. As a teenager, I use to skip school to go out to Rural Blake's place to dive off a 30 ft. cliff into the pond below. Cedar Point, looking at their website it definitely looks like fun.
omg! i forgot about that with the trees! there used to be a name for that? what did we call it? i can't remember! that was some crazy sheeet. We got banged up and hurt bad doing that but oh so much fun.
    I wanna go!!!!!!!
Looking at the map baby, it looks like Sandusky is right on Lake Erie. Which means we could fly into Cleveland or Detroit, rent a car and drive to Sandusky. What's that dear, no, no there isn't any direct flights from Dallas to Sandusky. Yes dear, Sandusky would be a good name for a Huskie Dog. Yes, Sandusky the Huskie.... We will make it happen so we can ride all those roller coasters and the Power Tower to.
here is the Power Tower and you can look at the other rides too http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/thrill/power_tower/index.cfm the park.. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/map/index.cfm I had Dan on The Drop Zone the first time at Kings Island.. it was the very first thing we got on there.. he's skeered of heights.. it was all downhill after that my favs at King's Island in Cincinnati, OH which is less than an hour from us.. http://www1.cedarfair.com/kingsisland/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=18 Drop Zone.. Flight of Fear.. The Beast - the worlds longest wooden roller coaster..
Rhondie, I was in Cincy about 2 years ago and drove past Kings Island and want to take in that park as well. I fell in love with Cinncinatti and all the older homes. It surprised me as I had never been there before and was surprised by all the rolling hills. I also ate at a killer Hooter's on the KY side of the stateline. The natives were restless that night and it was probably a good thing that I don't drink anymore. When Cathy was commuting back and forth between Staunton, IL and Nashville, TN she would go through on of my favorite KY cities, Paducah. I used to get on the cell phone with her and talk to her the entire 6 hours to and from Nashville. I am glad I don't have to do that anymore. If we come your way, are you going to go to Kings Island with us? We would need a tour guide you know.
I can definitely go there and HOOTERS I remember Cathy's drive as I would tell her I would be standing out along the expressway for her to pick me up Daniel says he loves the lay of the land alot here also... we will take the back roads over to my mom/dad's house and there are many rolling hills (hollers and ridges) here in Kentucky going there.. my parents live on a ridge sadly... I was in the Smokies when Cathy was there the 1st year.. and I was very drunk much of the time and barely remember her.. I only had eyes for Dan at that time. The last trip.. I could see clearly now.. we will all have to meet up sometime.. that will be nice. Hell if it means meeting quite a few people.. I may have to even consider a road trip up to Sandusky, OH when yous all go..
Cedar Point Rocks! Especially now that I fit on all the rides, I desire to go on! To just look at some close up scare the bejeebers outta me Don't forget MaxAir! woooooo different view with each huge, high, strong swing, I absolutely love the MaxAir, I want one for my backyard Oh yeah Cedar Point IS IN MY BACKYARD! So fly into Detroit, you would have to drive right past my house, in Toledo, so pick me up and I'll go with! You will enjoy Cedar Point! peace, Vickie
Hello Vickie! How did all your medical tests go? I have been thinking about you. Detroit is a pretty cheap airfare from Dallas so I think we should all think about pulling together a gameplan to go to Cedar Point. However since we would want Mel and Jay to go we need to wait until after their wedding. From replies on the board they are still knee deep in wedding planning mode. Let's make it happen, Ron & Cathy
hi ron! I guess my tests went well. no further calls from my dr. no news is good news? after the wedding then. when's the wedding? i have no clue? cedar point in on the calendar.
Vickie, Typically you are correct on the no news is good news front however follow up with your Doc. or the nursing staff if they have been untimely with your test results. Get a solid confirmation and request copies of them for any future reference needs. Mel & Jay are getting married on September 8th in Cleveland at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. (I hope I got that right). Let's see if we can get some input from others and schedule and plan it so that we can attract a nice group of folks to the park and have a grand time. Would love to do that. Nanight and have a great 4th, Ron & Cathy
