I have my surgery this thursday (RNY) and I am a little scared, I am also excited.  any helpful information on what to pack for the hospital, how much pain I will have and what to expect?  I look forward to your post

You do not need to pack much for the hospital.

medications you now take daily,  the only ones I used were for my breathing however.

A robe, for hall walking, non-slip slippers, but the hospital will give you those sock things

chapstick

wear comfy clothes to the hospital so you have them to go home in. (sweats)

hair brush, toothpaste/brush

a magazine - chances are though you won't ever get it open.  You'll be drugged, getting up to walk and have guest and sleeping.
