Topic: RE: Hello to Old Friends
Although I lurk now and again, I haven't posted in quite some time.  To all my old friends, I want to let you know my wife is going to give birth to our daughter any day now.

    Keep up the fight.
    Topic: RE: hi!
    Congratulations.  That is great news.
    Topic: RE: Long Time Away
After getting married, things have been crazy and I ended up not posting for quite some time.
    1.  Marraige is great.  Definitely worth the wait.
    2.  While I have kept most of my weight off, I have made zero progress in 16 months and even gained 10lbs.  Time to get back on the horse.
    3.  Unfortunately, I tore up my knee again (one of the reasons I had surgery in the  first place).  Going to get my meniscus repaired (and possibly my ACL) fixed on October 1st.

Topic: RE: hubby having trouble with new me
Give him time.   If he loved you when you are heavy, he will love you when you are thin.

One thing to be careful about.  If he is still heavy, make sure you don't inadvertantly do/say things that make him feel "fat."
    Topic: RE: hi!
    Fantastic news.  Congrats.
Topic: RE: Picky Eater - Eating Disorder?
Married life is good.   She is very good to me.    How is the baby?
Topic: RE: Picky Eater - Eating Disorder?
Freezing my a'ss off in CT, I caught a show on the Food Network called My Life in Food.   It ended up being about a group of people who have extreme food avoidance.   For example, one woman doesn't eat any meat, fruits, or veggies.   One guy basicallly eats bread.

As someone with eating issues, it was sad to see the impact it had on their lives.

Topic: RE: Red Meat and Porn?
While I would never eat an average steak rare, a great "rare" steak is ******ic.   Years ago, I managed to score a free dinner at Mortons.  My NY Strip was rare and perfect, the creamed spinach and steak fries bliss, and the chocolate souffle - beyond the pale.
Topic: RE: Red Meat and Porn?
Just thought I would spice up the board a bit.

Teacher was giving me **** about red meat last night.   Although I lov her dearly, I married into a freakshow of a family.   You know what they did?  We went to a very nice steakhouse for my MIL and BIL"s joint birthday bash.   Thanks to my crazy MIL, they all ordered steaks (good ones - not Denny's) MEDIUM WELL.    OH THE HUMANITY.

Eating good steak medium well is just wrong.   Wrong I say.  The entire family eats steak that way b/c my mother in law taught them that abomination.  Why not just put steak sauce on a prime steak.

Then, Teacher started to give me crap about not having any steak.   You see, I have not had a steak since my Lap surgery.  When I hit my target weight, I am going to Peter Luger's and having a RARE good steak.  Ultimately, she agreed to eat some of my RARE steak when the time comes - hopefully June.

    Peace,

    Brad
    Topic: RE: Holiday Season
Is it just me or is it usually a giant Pain in the A... to deal with everything?
    Topic: RE: Hate Election Season
Two more days and the freaking elections are over.  WIthout getting into party affiliation, I cannot take any more stupid ads.   If half of what is in the ads are true, all our elected (or potentially elected officiasl) are potential UNSUBS on Criminal Minds.

    STOP THE DUMB ADS.
    Topic: RE: Just saying hello
Congrats on the baby.  That is wonderful news.

Married life is good.  Teacher is a great partner and tolerates my oddball habits.   To be honest, things would be perfect but for two things:
    1.  I have developed a sleeping disorder.  I cannot stay asleep past 4 am.   Needless to say, I am not pleased with this development.   Working with a doctor to fix it, but who knows.

    2.  The freaking economy.  On the brightside, the financial crisis has increased my workload making me very busy.  Always a good sign for business.  On the downside, financial services companies are in the crapper and who knows "who is next" to take a dive.  If you had told me 2 years ago AIG would be out of business, I would have called you crazy.   Furthermore, other strong companies (like my former employer) are in serious trouble (and my current one is not exactly sitting pretty).   I know Bush (and the Repulicans) are getting the blame, but the Democrats (including CT"s idiot Senator Dodd) are  just as guilty.   In today's WSJ, I saw a story about a couple with a combined $70,000 income that managed to borrow $680K for a house WITH NOTHING DOWN.  Now, responsbile borrowers (and employees at banks and insurance companies) are taking it you know where.
Topic: RE: Inquiring minds want to know
It is code for "ain't going to get any anytime soon" or "ain't go no game."
    Topic: RE: Just saying hello
Sorry I haven't  posted or even lurked in quite some time.  Since the wedding, Teacher and I have been trying to get the house in some sort of shape before the end of the year.

As an attorney in the financial services industry, it has been kind of crazy (but looking up).
    Topic: RE: The Wedding Schlong!!!

Don't tell my priest or I am going to  have to do an enormous amount of penance.   I am not kidding  when I tell you we ended up staring  at a giant schlong shadow for the entire ceremony.   It was so obvious, I thought someone was pranking us.

Our wedding was a catholic wedding where teacher and I ended up kneeling in front of the alter  (lots of fun for  a guy with a bad knee).  As I look up, I realized  one of the windows is  casting a shadow.of the candle (complete with that metal cap thingy) across the alter directly in front of us.

When teacher  noticed  it, she said glanced over at me and noticed my smirk.  It just proved we are the perfect pair.

The honeymoon to Maui  went  well  (except American Airlines blows) and  we had a great time.

    Topic: RE: soo..
With all the planning for the wedding, I have been lurking more and more. Throw in the complete "off the wagon" diet, haven't really been in the mood for posting. On the bright side, Teacher and I are leaving Monday for 1.5 weeks of fun in the sun. Basically, I am going on a Seafood diet (really, not the joke) and getting a shipload of sun. Peace.
    Topic: RE: soo..
I hope you are doing well. Like you, I have tended towards lurking more and more. With everything going on, my diet has gone completely to hell. Planning on hitting the gym in September. Hope you are doing well. Brad Ford (for some reason, it has started listing my name as somehting else). BTW - that dog is a cutie.
Topic: RE: Last full week Single
Next Saturday, my lovely bride is going to drink the kool-aid and we are getting hitched. Then, it is off to Hawaii.
Topic: RE: Evil has a new form.
And you are spreading the evil?? Now I want some.
Topic: RE: Post-WLS Competitive Eating Challenge
The other day, I got to watch the world famous hotdog eating contest from Coney Island on the 4th of July. Needless to say, the Chestnut guy and the little japanese dude packed away a crapload of hotdogs in 10 minutes. Watching it, I wondered how many I could have done before getting banded. Then, I decided WLS patients shouldn't be precluded from competing and designed my on rules: 1. All WLS patients welcome. 2. No puking within 5 minutes of eating. Using these rules, I believe I can eat 1 hotdog in 10 minutes without heaving. What can you do?
Topic: RE: Ok, I am back
Gorgeous, I am glad to see you are back feeling a little better. I am sure you will be back to full speed in no time. As for me, things are "going." Lots of drama: 1. Teacher's mom and my mom don't particularly like each other. Luckily, they don't live close to each other. 2. Should have gone to Vegas (even though I hate Vegas). 3. Turned 40 last week. Very sad. 4. Stuck on current weight - tired of it. On the bright side, Teacher is an angel and puts up with my crap. Peace, Bill
    Topic: RE: Another question....
Work in the yard. Getting a grill for the 4th. Hopefully, I'll get to play some golf. Next week - Teacher and I are planning on firing up some band friendly fish on the grill
    Topic: RE: Amy Winehouse
She has so much talent and potential and it is slipping away. As someone who fights his addictions (food), I feel her pain and hope she gets help before she becomes an uglys statistic. I LOVED Chris Farley and look what happened to him.
Topic: RE: TUESDAY: Liven up the Board Post
Just under 2 months to go. Going to get the license and my wedding band today. She finished up her masters program last month and finishes her teaching next week. It will be nice to spend some time with her. Diet Coke with Vitamins just seems "wrong" to me. Kind of like non-alcoholic beer.
Topic: RE: TUESDAY: Liven up the Board Post
    1. The new adam sandler movie was good, but i enjoy his movies generally. Ironman was awesomen. Indy Jones - mediocre. 2. Coke Zero at home and when I can find it. Diet Coke everywhere else.
