Please post who you find to be the most inspiring athletes as well! Mine would be Team Hoyt. I don't see how anyone could NOT be inspired by that kind of devotion.

not being a huge sports follower I dont really know any athletes by name....other than kirk maltby whom I plan to marry (he is not aware of this yet) so I guess for me its anyone who battles wanting to just sit & watch tv eating chips with crumbs all over their chest, yet fights that feeling & goes out & moves. the everyday "athlete" is who inspires me most.

You should click on the Team Hoyt link up there. They're everyday people.  They're also amazing people.

Good video - thanks for the inspiration. I'm running the 1/2 marathon in August for the Injured Marines Fund Semper Fi. Their name basically says it all....they help out injured Marines and Sailors where the VA leaves off or can't help out....a ride to treatment, a ramp for their home, support for the families, etc. I decided to run for them when my son returned home from Iraq....SAFE...IN ONE PIECE....WITHOUT PROBLEMS.  I figured, I was lucky and I can run, so why not..... Thanks for the inspiration!

I posted this on another site a few weeks ago.  I meet them at the Hyannis, MA marathon two weeks ago.  What a thrill.   "I can only imagine...." http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1734846
