I used to have a black cat on my old bike before someone stole it yards few years back. What computer might I want to get for my bike as I ride through neighborhoods and go where I don't see traffic.  Might anyone have another idea? Thanks in advance for your time.

I used to really be into cycling, riding between 3-9000 miles per year.  I think any computer will be fine.  I found that the new "wireless" computers are much better than they used to be 10 years ago.  They use to cut out by high wires (lots of bike paths) or distraction from other cyclists.  I would want one that shuts off when you are riding (most of the inexpensive ones do). It would be more important when you are beginning to ride, as you will take more breaks and it is easier to see the total time cycled.  I use time for exercise when beginning to exercise, rather than distance.  You will get faster as you lose more weight, and go a further distance, so time is better for me.

Garmin.  Get a Speed Cadence Sensor that way if you have a trainer you can ride indoors on bad days.
