New Schedule!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm changing up my workout routine! I'm taking Personal Trainer Fundamentals to earn my ACE Personal Trainer Certification and every time I study I'm left with the overwhelming urge to START LIFTING NOW. However.. time is a thing and I had to realize that I'd need to sacrifice something to make time for lifting. (At 20 hours a week on average, exercise is a part time job for me.)

After a long, hard look at my schedule, I'm opting to ditch my Tuesday and Thursday fitness classes and just focus on running, lifting, and stretching on those days. Then I'll do fitness classes on Wednesday and Friday, yoga at home on Monday and a weekend day, and the other weekend day will be running, lifting, and stretching. Which weekend day is which will depend on schedule and weather. Since we're getting to the time of year when I might be driven inside for running (SIGH).

I also graduated from physical therapy today, which means my new plan will start next week! Yay rah!! I don't have any more races scheduled for this year, and I might not be able to do the Rock n Roll 5k that I'm registered for due to a Saturday class in the Spring term, but my goal for 2016 is to complete a half marathon. I'm super excited about this.

My new schedule will look something like this:

M: yoga at home
Tu: running, stretching, lifting
W: pilates class, yoga class, relaxation class
Th: running, stretching, lifting
F: piyozing class, tai chi class, pilates class
Sa/Su: yoga at home OR running, stretching, lifting (which one happens on which day will depend on weather, etc.)

In 2016 I'm also planning on swapping my "exercise every day for 15 minutes" goal to "log at least 5000 steps every day." I know that, technically, people are supposed to aim for 7000-10000 steps, but I do a lot of exercise that doesn't track as steps so I figure 5000 a day is more realistic for me.

When is your half? I am doing my first on March 20th here in San Antonio. Starts and finishes at the Alamo.

I am considering a full in 2017. But to do so, I need to drop another 30-35 lbs.

I'm looking at a half either in September or October, which one I do will depend on school schedule.

Why do you need to lose 30-35 pounds to run a full?

I figure that at my current weight, over that distance, I would probably average 15 minutes per mile and that would take well over six and half hours.
