You need to find other ways to get your hydration in. As others have said, it doesn't need to be water. Any non-caloric fluid will work. Protein shakes, crystal light, unsweetened tea, whatever you can drink.

It's strange that you're still having problems so long post-op. Have you spoken with your PCP? If your surgeon isn't seeing you, that would be a good place to start. Perhaps your PCP can intervene on your behalf.

Are you seeing a therapist for the mental struggles?

I have been trying to get in to see my surgeon and get the runaround, im still waiting on his secretary to call me back. I have spoken with my pcp but they want me to see my surgeon since im having complications. I am going to make an appointment with the therapist

You say you have trouble getting water down does that include other fluids and do you get pain when you eat and feel sick. I am asking for a very good reason. I spent two years having issues with eating and fluids. Took two years to find the issues and that was after taking a sip of water and had so much pain back to emergency and they kept me for 6 days but found the answer.

Not to much pain I will just feel nauseas after I take a few sips and then I just stop because I don't like the feeling. Eating is ok i nibble here and there

than I will say it was not what I was thinking. I could not eat or drink. If there was pain i would have said get checked for candy cane sydrome

Hello dear,

In my opnioun you just need some time to over come from the surgery trauma! Having surgery isn't a small thing. Try to take the classes which you are talking about and try to consult your doc regularly. Hope so you will get well soon! All the best for future.
