Topic: RE: When does exercise cross the line?

"Obsessed" is a word the lazy use to describe the committed... Just sayin! 45 minutes a day 5-6 times a week is far from being obsessed in my book.

    Topic: RE: Training Terror
You would soon forget a missed training run, however, you will ALWAYS regret missing important life events like your daughter's baby shower. LIFE COMES FIRST!!! Running is something we DO, family is who we ARE! Always remember your priorities... I got caught up in the race / training trap and lost sight of what in life is really important. I have finally found the perfect balance and I assure you, my daughters cheerleading, sons football, a day at the zoo, or whatever will ALWAYS come before any training run or race because with them is where true happiness is :)

Topic: RE: Logging Water During Exercise.
FYI... 20 fluid ounces of water weighs 1.303968 pounds

Weigh yourself before you workout and after, add fluid consumed during training and see if you lost or gained weight, adjust accordingly to net 0 weight change and continue with 100 OZ

Topic: RE: Logging Water During Exercise.
100oz DOES NOT include what you sweat while working out. Drink to replenish while you workout and then still be sure to get you 100oz aside from that,,,

You will either find ways to make it happen or find excuses why you didnt. You have to force yourself to do it. After 21 days of any repeated pattern, it becomes a habit...

    Topic: RE: Miles or Calories?
While i train for ULTRA Marathons, I don't use EITHER... I focus on TIME on my feet! A 7 hour walk is more effective than a FAST 5K. It just depends on your goals. If it is losing weight, I would think that starting to target 45 minutes of activity a day is a good starting place, then trying to increase by 5 minutes every few days. Once you hit 90 minutes or so, then I would start working on improving your speed, which in turn allows you to cover more miles / distance in that 90 minute window...
