We found out yesterday that the state employees on our island aren't up to date on how to deal with the civil unions. We already applied online but the website said we had to appear in person althgh we didn't know why. We went to one place yesterday which was the wrong place but were given a number to call. That office was not available but the voice mail gave several numbers, some of which were cell phone numbers, but voice mail wasn't set up on one and one never called back. we will be going to Oahu for my surgery so if we can't make anything happen before then, we will just do it in Honolulu.
Anything worthwhile is worth waiting for. I think that's how the saying goes. If not, I just made up a new one.
I hope for any of you wanting to marry or at least have some kind of legal recognition are able to get it. We deserve it and are worth it.
Aloha,
Barb
