Post Date: 2/3/12 10:58 am It's kind of funny how 2 years out my brain still "eats". What do I mean by this?
I went to lunch today, a gourmet sandwich shop with some coworkers. I had never been there but heard really good things about it. As the sandwiches were being prepared I started thinking to myself "Wow, that is very small... I am going to be starving by 3pm" so I ordered a small side of potato salad and knew I had a protein shake at the office also.
The sandwich was delish! It had prosciutto, arugula, sliced apples and bre on it. It was not a huge sandwich by any means in height or density...if that makes sense? The sandwich was not one of these massive sandwiches you find at most places. It was about the size of my palm and maybe a 1/4 of an inch high (including bread, stuff inside it, etc.
I finished my sandwich and was very content. Not overly stuffed or nasty feeling. No hurting, etc. Then I realized I hadn't touched the potato salad. Ha!
Knowing very well I have been banded for two years and knowing for the most part, what portions I can eat....and I still thought my sandwich wouldnt be enough. Well.... my brain thought that. Moral of my story? Listen to your gut - LITERALLY!
