Topic: RE: This forum is AWESOME. Any trans folk here?

Well, I don't know if I'd qualify specifically as one who is trans, but my partner of 21 years is.  She had her grs in 2009, and I have had RNY wls. My surgery was in march, 2012 and I am down 135 from my heaviest weight.  We also completely renovated our house this year...which, btw, was harder on our marriage than any of the other changes that we made over the years! Go figure!

so, I understand to some degree all of your issues, at least through  my connectedness with my partner.

i also didn't like my body obviously, and didn't invest anything into it, except pain.  But now, I will tell you...you have the power to change your reality, and it is both scary and amazing to experience a wholly new life.  I say do it...because the last time I looked, we only live once!

    have a great weekend!

I wondered where you had gone!  Well, now I know! It does get better...I don't care about food anymore.  Don't crave specific foods, and buy the kind of foods that go down well, and are easy to digest.  I make sure that I have my proteins, fruits and veg, and leave the carbs and other old trigger foods on the shelf.  I wanted this to happen, and it did.
So, hang on to your hat, because you're in for an exciting ride! Wheeeee.....

do you feel good? You LOOK great.  So why are you stressing about a few measly pounds?  Get off the scale and enjoy your life.  :)
I have done this, and it only took me until I was 48 to learn this.  It may also be the way that I keep off my weight for good finally.
Have fun jogging...(if that is even possible - lol)

have fun on your cruise...not jealous, not jealous, not jealous....
    Topic: RE: Realigned my goal.
It's what will keep me here.  The scale just is a constant nagger. I can never please it, and I usually have a great day, unless I step on it and it hasn't moved or gone up .2 of a pound....
so it's best to stay off that thing as much as possible and just live healthily.

    Topic: RE: Realigned my goal.
thanks for your support! i feel like I am making good, positive thinking changes that may just allow me to be successful at ths weight control thing for once!

    Topic: RE: Realigned my goal.
I have reset my goal.  I am now aiming for a BMI which is considered "normal" for someone of my height.  I am wearing a size 9/10 on the bottom and a M-L on top, which looks good on me at this time.  My doctor thought that I looked good yesterday and suggested that I not get too thin, as I would look unhealthy, and actually might get unhealthy.  So, as I feel really great even now, I have listened to him, and for now, have moved my goal ticker to 159, which puts me at 24.9 BMI.  If my body wants to get smaller after that, I will let it, but I am being mindful of my health, not focussing only on my desire to be skinny.
    Thanks for letting me share.

    Topic: RE: Happy weekend!
    Hi Connie,
well, I slept in firstly.  I went back to school on Tuesday - I am a high school teacher, and boy am I tired.  I really haven't had any headspace to do any exercise other than walking the dog once or twice a day...but just waking up in the morning and working all day has been my "exercise".  What has been pretty mind blowing, are the things people are saying to me.  In my ENTIRE life, I have never been so complimented for my appearance.  I have been called TINY by about 10 separate people.  (I am down a further 10 pounds from the pictures in my profile).  Me> TINY???? That word can not be being said to ME?? I am freaked out really.
so, as for exercise, probably not too much this weekend.  I may walk for a while on my treadmill, maybe not....
    I will start soon....
    I will.
    really.
    Have a great weekend everyone!

    Hi Connie,
I am going to visit my old mom today...bringing my pup and we are going to have a nice day...that's all! Not asking too much from myself today, as I had to put down one of my dogs yesterday...and I am still feeling kind of down because of that.
Hope you have fun at your party! Sounds cool!

Topic: RE: Just back from NYC! Pics on profile!
    Hi All,
Got back from NYC on Sunday...wow...what a whole lot of NSV's there! How about walking all day, everyday with no problems or pain?  Dressing up for dinners out? Feeling like I could wear a tank top without a shirt covering up my BFAs. (big fat arms)? Just to name a few...posted some pics on my profile. If you would like to see them, they are there!
Stayed the same, weight-wise...but the inches are coming off.  Down from 52 inches (waist) to 34.5 inches as of this morning...It's ALL Worth it!
