Scanner or Ham Radio anyone?

Any Scanner or Ham radio hobbiests?

I'm a ham!  General and afraid of failing the extra. I also am a scanner person because of my previous employment with 911 and records communication.

I love my scanner and I'm in Emergency Management so though I'm not an Ametuer Radio person, I depend on and work with them daily.  I work at Boeing and our HAM guys are called BACS - Boeing Auxilliary Communications Services and we depend on them and their ranks of volunteers to communicate when our radio systems fail us.  And generally an interesting group of guys :-)
