Am I the perfect bandster?

Heck no. I haven't started exercising at all yet -- nurse told me that's part of the deal so I'd best be getting my butt in gear eh? Do I drink 1.5 - 2L of water every day? I am close most days but no, I know I don't get enough water into me. Having said the above, I know my replies may sometimes indicate that I am "perfect". No one is perfect - it's overrated :) But I will tell you this -- I'm not effing around when it comes to the post-op diet. I followed my 2 weeks full-liquids and I'm finishing my 2 weeks of mushies now. For me personally, I am not "trying" anything that isn't on the diet. I try not to judge others who DO, but I just don't get it. I can't relate :) I'm not saying this to be mean -- I just think for me personally, if I can't stick to a post-op diet, that my chances for success are slimmer. Again, this is how Krista feels for Krista. You can feel differently ~ that's ok :) If I tried something and it went down ok, I know myself. I would say "Well, that worked ok - I should try ____". Then it's just one thing leading to another and I'll be sliding down that slippery slope right back where I started. I'm worth the effort. Sure it takes committment, especially in the beginning, but I am worth it. And so are YOU.

Hiya Pooh Bear! Decided to exercise those fingers today, huh? Yes, you are worth it.

WTH???? I'm friends with Frances and Krista. They have pet names? They call me Anne. I call them Frances and Krista. What am I chopped liver?
I can think of a few good names for you :P

Ok, fahgetaboutit.
You sure are worth it! Motivation is a funny thing though.  Everyone has to find their own key.  I am glad you have yours.  Just don't lose it.  Ok well if you do lose it just let me know and maybe I'll scare some into you. LOL

I am not alone, neither are you.

Thanks Pam ~ it's really good to know I have friends who've got my back.

Krista, You're doing great, keep it up!!  The water thing....on a good day, 100oz, on a not so good day, about 70 oz---at least I'm drinking it :) creamon_59_shirleybarber_GreatWork.jpg Great Work Fairy image by mjs4him

Hi Krista, I am hoping to Ibe as disciplined as you.  My surgery isn't scheduled yet, but I am hoping for some time in October.  I keep telling myself to start eating smaller portions now and healthier choices so it won't be so hard after surgery....but I haven't gotten around to it yet!  LOL  I know once I have my surgery I will be better because I don't want to chance messing up my band, but being better isn't good enough....I want to be at my best.

That is the ABSOLUTE BEST IDEA! I think that is part of my success. Because I started "dieting" and losing weight prior to the surgery, I was already in the right mind set. If I could pick one piece of advice to give, you just named it! Good luck with your upcoming surgery. I'll be right here to cheer you on!

Great points

Krista, just remember this, we are going to support you even if you are far from perfect!!! That is what this is all about. Keep it up, you are doing great and you know yourself better than anyone, so do what works for you.

Thanks Phyllis !!!

um...yeah...to me you are!!  LOL....seriously,  I read your posts A LOT.  And even if you aren't saying what I "want" to hear....what you are saying is right.  If I am thinking of getting off track I say to myself..."what would Krista do?"   Yup...I mean that.  You and this board are really helping to keep me on the straight and narrow. Congrats on all your success!

Oh Susan, you just made me smile :) What would Krista do? :) <-- that could be scary in some situations Thank you for reading my posts ... I appreciate it.

You are doing great my friend!  I feel the same way.  I grumbled and whined, but I followed the diet.  I am looking forward to the best possible result here.  And if I do have issues down the line at least I won't be kicking myself for it (hopefully).  You Go Girl -- keep on keeping on!  You are awesome!
