Don't send your man to the grocery store for jello

Funny story - I just sent my DH to the grocery store to get a few things so I can make some homemade chicken noodle soup.   I also had on the list to buy 4-5 boxes of sugar free jello.  The phone rings.
It's him.  " Do you want some of this chocolate jello?"
ME: "No, jello doesn't come in chocolate.".
HIM: 'Yes it does, it says Jello right on the box".
ME: "That's pudding."
HIM: "Well it says jello"
ME:  " I know.  That's the brand name. Just look for lemon, lime, strawberry."
HIM: "Ok - oh here's one - cheesecake jello - do you want some of those?"
ME : "No, that's pudding too."
HIM: "It doesn't say pudding on the box."
ME: " I'm sure it says pudding somewhere.  Just look at the picture.  Does it look like pudding or jello?"
HIM:  "It looks like pudding, but the box says jello."

By this time I'm chuckling to myself and he's getting more confused.  Guess he's never bought jello before.   He just walked in the door.  I better go check to see what he came home with.

Those people remind me of slinkys. Not good for much but it would would bring a smile to my face if someone pushed them down the stairs.

Too funny... So what flavor of "pudding" did he bring home.
A similar thing happened to me, but my husband was at the store with me, and he was looking for canned chicken.
He picked up Chicken of the Sea, and I said "no, that's tuna", and he said, "it says chicken on the can". I said "no, Chicken of the Sea is the brand name".
Well, at this point, to me, this was so funny, because I saw Jessica Simpson do the same thing on her reality TV show, so when he continued to argue, I said "whatever, Jessica".
He didn't get it. He said, " what is that supposed to mean".
Thanks for posting this, I needed a good laugh. I miss my hubby soooo much. He is in Maryland helping FEMA with the disaster relief.

Oh that's funny too!

I thought he would bring home lemon pudding, but he actually brought home the right thing!  My kids are going to love giving him a hard time about this.

Glad to hear your hubby is helping out with the disaster relief.  My niece and nephew both live in Maryland and they've sent pictures.  Awful!

How funny!  I'm sure my husband feels the same way when he sends me to the hardware store.

EXACTLY!

Or auto parts store!

You're right, we have probably had a "reverse" conversation when I've been trying to find a part for him.

The funniest "man shopping" thing I ever came across was when my sister and her husband were in Paris. This is a long time ago and at that time all the pharmacies in the area she was in were not self service and there was no supermarket nearby.

She got taken by surprise by her period. Hubby had to go into a pharmacy and, not speaking a word of French, buy her the necessary.

He managed but has never owned up to how he did it!!

True story!

Oh my husband would have DIED!  How embarassing for him.  Poor baby.  You can tell I don't feel too sorry for him.   He did a good thing for his wife just like a good husband should. LOL

Glad you got your Jello!  Cute story!  So what is your post op diet going to be like?

Gracie and I didn't pass at our dog show.  She would have passed, but on the broad jump, 3 boards, she stepped in between the 1st and 2nd one and that disqualified us.  Maybe tomorrow we will pass!
Enjoy your jello!
Liquids post-op for another week.  Then on to mushies!  YAY!  I don't think the post-op will be so bad, because I don't think I will be feeling up to eating.  The NUT told me that post-op they want me to concentrate on staying hydrated and not to worry so much about the protein.  But the protein helps with hunger, so I'll see how that goes.

Good luck tomorrow in the dog show.  And enjoy Valentine's day
