I was banded on June 9th.  Some time back, I made a future appointment with my hairdresser to have my hair highlighted.  When I made the appointment, I didn't think anything about my band.  The appointment is approaching in a couple of weeks.  Should I or shouldn't  I go ahead with the highlighting?  Is it too harsh?  I'm doing everything I can to avoid hair loss and would hate for this to make it worse!  Has anyone else had good or bad luck with hair color after banding?  My grays say,"Yes, please"  but my mind is worried!

I had a lot of hair loss no matter what I took it didnt help. tried eating more protien etc. But it didnt stop me from getting me hair done every 5 weeks with 3 colors. the hair loss subsided 4-6 months (thank goodness).  the color should not cause hair loss(unless u have a bad hairdresser  lol) Good Luck I would keep the appointment

I never experienced hairloss.  Don't worry about it.  It only happens to some people not everyone.  Besides the stress you create over the issue might make your hair fall out.  Hope this helps!

I have never heard of any problems that would cause you to not be able to get your hair done. Enjoy your new look with your new body! As for hair loss it is probably too soon for me to experience it but like another poster said, not everyone experiences it. Mine is so thick that I am still getting it cut every 4 weeks and by then it really needs it.

I say go for it, you should be fine. While you're at it schedule a pedicure- you're worth it!

 I was banded on May 14th, have not experienced any hair loss and have coloured my hair twice since being banded with no bad results.

U generally have hair loss regardless. I continued coloring my hair after surgery. I think most ppl do.

I have been banded for 3.5 months, almost 4.  I have experienced no change in my hair at all!  Well, it's grown a little. lol  Enjoy your coloring. :)
