No Lap Band Refund Needed for me - pics of my long 7 year band journey!

I've learned over the years there is NO perfect weight loss surgery, ONLY a  perfect surgery THAT fit each individual lifestyle, what works for ME, may not work for YOU.

I've gained some weight back, I don't have much saline in my band right now , got an unfill last year due to reflux and coughing from eating too much on a restricted band, and I am awaiting to get a fill in the next few weeks, (I put if off coz I am going to Vegas this week , still living and loving life at 7 years) Am I worried about gaining weight back? Nope because I have a good functioning band installed in by body that is waiting to get filled back up to help me -- If I did not have and Adjustable restriction at 7 years I would be doomed!

Hi Nana you look marvelous! I have had my band 4 years this month. I am down 85 lbs. I went from a 24 to a 14. I am happy but I would love to lose about 25 more lbs. I am getting a fill after vac. What new things can I eat? I am so tired of the same stuff. When I get that fill I will be limited to what I can eat. Any suggestions? I have had bad cravings and I have been able to eat way to much lately. I need that fill. I haven't had one in a years time. Tell me what to eat to get to losing again. Thanks for your positive support on this board. It has been so ugly and discouraging to read some of peoples posts. I keep coming back because this board helped me when I was freshly banded. Good luck my happy bandsters! Thanks So MUCH Renea

Hey sweetie, join us in the "happy band group" we are growing, there are too many mean spirited women on this forum and the advice I will give you, I would rather do it privately in our group.

Hopefully more will start posting! You are right there are a lot of ugliness and mean, you will get all the support you need over there.

Keep this link to our group book marked so you can easily access it.

I was so dead set against bypass , especially when my twin daughters had it 6 years ago....boy was that a big family fight even though they were 30 at the time. I did not help or support them at all , and now I am having to "eat" my words !! and feelings.
I am very happy , so far , with the bypass , my BMI was 37 at surgery and I am loosing slowly , and can barely tell I even had surgery, I am back to feeling normal when I eat, except I can't eat much....like I said , so far so good , the vitamins are a challenge
We all want the same thing, to be happy and live in a lower weight body and be healthy.
When I think of all the money and EMOTIONAL energy I have spent over the last 40 years to loose weight ,tens of thousands of dollars , I wish I had done this in my 30's instead of at almost 60 !!!! head slap :(

P.S....did you meet your hubby online???? just had to ask

I am so happy to hear that you are doing well! You are a very sweet person and I am sure you will be blessed with much success. I remember you well now, yep we've all had "issues" with this lap band, even myself, but that's the nature of the beast sort of speak. When I was having fill issues about 3 years ago, I was honestly thinking about a revision to "something" that was how fed up I was, but turns out it was not my band, it was my previous surgeons office not filling me properly, I was either too tight or too loose.

Now I am pretty happy with my band and new surgeons practice, when I get a fill it's not too tight, they usually hit the spot. But last year I was complacent and started eating too much "I blame my hubby" he loves to eat...lol...and I got irritated and started having some reflux and frequent night coughing and I new those were not good signs,  I went in to see my surgeon and he removed most of my saline, and I did not go back and boy have I paid for it, I gained back over 40 pounds "yikes"....but I am not mad about, the most important thing was keeping my band in good health where I can move forward with future fills and weight loss.

Now getting to the good stuff....yep I met my hubby on match.com...remember my "dating adventures"...that was fun, I dated a lot of fun guys and I really enjoyed my freedom after my divorce and subsequent weight loss, I had many dinner dates...but it was hard trying to find that perfect match where we had every thing in common...he was a nerdy guy who used to play in a band and software engineer and we both are techies so we hit it off immediately...he travels a lot and he used to take me with him so I really enjoyed that. We dated for about 18 months before we got married...I call him my teddy bear....he is so sweet and has the sweetest mother who treats me as her daughter, I call mom...and he deals with all my mood swings........I love him for that alone. He is the love of my life my "teddy bear"
