If its that time of the month I cant keep anything sweet or salty in the house because I will eat it . Other times I do okay maybe not perfect but okay .
Im more like Kate and her ways of thinking
I was never a sweets eater to begin with so having sweets around the house dont trigger anything for me , unless it's that time of the month and I can eat chocolate or sweets like there is no tomorrow .
I thought having soda around the house would bother me , I was a huge Pepsi drinker , but I have bottles of 2 litters sitting around the house all the time for the kids and I have no desire to drink it . I just dont like it , its way to sweet for me yuck .
I guess I am lucky I dont have problems with sweets like many of you do and have to keep it out of the house .
This week its about that time of the month and I cant find nothing to eat to satisfy me and that always leads me to grazing to much . The healthy foods just dont get it , this time of the month lol
Pizza is my sweets. I will sit there and eat pizza when I know I shouldnt be eating it , and I cant keep leftovers in the house. Pizza has and always will be my downfall food.
I will do this challenge also. I am in the same boat. Eating healthy , doing Zumba four times a week and havent lost a single pound in 2 1/2 weeks .
I am so upset by this and when I get this way I get myself off track and do things I shouldnt be doing .
Carol if you can drink it and it dont become a problem for you then there is nothing to worry about . I love Sprite Zero I drank that alot and Pepsi .
I usually have about five different kinds of soda always here at my house for the kids that run in and out 7 days a week and it dont bother me .
I just got use to drinking my Walmart Cherry Limeade water that is all I drink now and Ice tea about once a week on bowling night.
As long as you dont start abusing the Sprite and drinking that in place of your water , then enjoy your Sprite Zero there is nothing wrong that :o) IF you start seeing yourself drinking more of the Sprite then your water then get rid of the Sprite dont get back into bad habits again. Like I said one of the girls always drinks about two Diet Cokes a day but she makes sure her water is also .
She never lets her go flat she just pours it over the ice and drinks it . The carbonated drinks have never bothered me .
My doctor told me the reason why they dont want you to have them is they are full of nothing but sugar and calories that we dont need. He never said I couldnt have it , but he did say why waste your calories on something like that .
I havent had a soda in over two yrs now and dont miss it all to be honest. I take a little sip of hubby's here and there if we are out and I am thirsty , but to be honest its so sweet and taste like poo poo now that I dont even think twice about it , and I have 2 littlers of soda all the time at my house for the teens that run in and out all the time lol.
But, when I am out on our boat in the summer I do drink carbonated alcohol and think nothing of it . I know a few people that has had their bands for over 4 yrs now and drinks at least 2 diet cokes a day and their bands are fine , I personally dont get into all the hype that it will damage your band , I just dont believe that . I believe the doctors tell you that stuff so you wont drink it , because you shouldnt be drinking it to lose weight . That is just my opinion though lol.
And no I dont believe at all it stretches the pouch I think its a scare tactic used by the doctors
I have the type of body that if I dont eat healthy and exercise and I mean exercise no fluffy stuff that is the only way I can lose weight .
It dont matter how little I eat, how healthy I eat if I dont exercise I wont lose end of story . I just cant eat healthy or the little amounts and the weight just falls off . Never been like that and even after WLS its not like that. I still have to work just as hard .
The longer we get away from our surgery date the easier it is to slip back into bad habits been there done that . Speaking from experience here just this week I had to come clean with some friends on here about things ( no band problems ) and once I went back and read my post I can see where I have been struggling.
Like they told me you just have to get up and start doing it , thinking about it isnt going to get you no where. I went back to my first Zumba class after missing it for months on Monday and then I went back last night again . Once I got there omg did it feel good to get my butt and exercise again. I forgot how much I enjoyed it . I was going to go night but monthly female problems is keeping me away tonight , but I will be there again on Monday night.
Like another poster said if you cant get at least 4 -5 oz of protein in a meal then you are way to tight and that can be more dangerous then you know . My doc always told me if I cant sit down and eat a healthy reasonable meal then I have to much fluid in our bands. Reasonable to him is protein, veggie and yes even a carb . That is my doc though.
I just started fresh again this past Monday after getting my head together and the support from caring friends on here . Start exercising again, no excuses just do it , start tracking your food . I use Fitness pal on my phone and scan everything I eat , have fruit, or veggies around if you get hungry its better to eat that stuff then picking up a bag of chips ( I am very bad about that ).
Its so easy to slip back into bad habits, its easy to eat around the band ( been doing that for a yr now *sigh* ), just start doing it , the motivation will come when you see the numbers on the scale go down.
Also speaking of scales. Im sure everybody has noticed when they are no****ching their weight they could care less about the scales I am so damn guilty of this its not funny !! , But when we are watching what we eat, exercising , we come obessed with the scales !! Dont let the scales run you . I think that is alot of problems to. I am a slow losser and I get very upset when I get on the scales and dont see numbers go down. I get mad, I get discouraged, I get to where I will eat things .
I am doing it another approach this time around . As long as I know I am eating healthy , exercising the weight has to come off. This time around not going to let the scales ruin me .
Good luck its hard to get back on track after you have been off track for a long time, but you will never get back on track if you dont start making them first moves .
Im doing good not great but good . Holding steady lol. I did really good at Disney though. I didnt say no anything ate all the bad foods but within my limits and still lost 12 pounds in 6 days. I love Disney lol. I told hubby I would move down there just to get season passes just to walk around .
I got myself into not doing any Zumba though . I have been to one class in two months :o( . Just Disney and then three weeks later it was Christmas and we know how it goes. Once you stop exercising its a witch to get yourself going again.
I am starting back tonight though and going back Mon, Wed Thurs and Fridays again . Once I get back into that the food will fall into place.
Food has been okay , I am eating alot of things I shouldnt be eating. Not being picky like I was right after surgery . I need to get back into being picky again lol.
Once I start exercising again I will be okay . I work out so hard at Zumba you dont want to blow what you did by eating bad .
Other then that doing really good no complications, no nothing band wise problems just Steelerfan problems not getting her head in the right place to do it lol.
People are not going to post on this board because of all the arguments he said she said, your surgery sucks, this one is better, sort of things.
If I was a new person that just had surgery i sure wouldnt come to this board, I will not recommend this board to anybody past or future lapbanders.
The damage has been done and nothing is going to change it.
This board can be down right nasty and hateful and I mean hateful . Full of arguments, full of name calling . Not to long ago you couldnt read a single thread without some sort of fight starting out .
Why would people stick around for stuff like that .
I come here twice a week to read certain posts and that is all , I just dont feel the need to post here anymore with accomplishments or struggling .
Im sure if any of the long term vets see this they will probably say the same thing . They let this board get out of hand and did nothing about it and this is what happens you run off people.
Brrr its cold out this morning . Cant wait to get to that Florida weather in a few weeks .

Brrr is it cold today !!! We went from a high of yesterday of 79 down to a high of 50 today !! dang what a change and I got the sniffles from sitting outside for the game last night .
Breakfast none just woke up about a hour ago late night last night
Lunch a Ruben sandwich I haven't had one of them forever and going to toast it on my Panini
Dinner chicken breast lightly coated in Italian bread crumbs, broccoli slaw, and a few homemade mashed potatoes
Exercise none today .
Have no idea what the kids will do today but it will be loud whatever they do lol
I hate that week before your period !!! I can do so much damage that week if I don****ch it .
What makes it really hard for me is nothing satisfies me ., its like I am always hungry and it sure isn't for grapes and nanners lol
Plus I can put on anywhere from 8 to 10 pounds of water for a good two weeks and I have to try to stay off the scales which is hard to do , because I will get frustrated and on top of being a cranky mood PMS girl I will hit the bag of chips *sigh*.
I really hate PMS Lol
It's such a busy day today with homecoming and getting things done and going there and here for pictures so its grab on the go and eat what you can.
Lunch about 6 chicken nuggets ( I know not good but at they was made at home I snitched them off my son's plate while running out the door )
Dinner I have no idea I know not very good but to be honest it will probably be some of them wing dings (chicken wings ) at Walmart or one of the deli pizza's .
Just one of them days dont have time to eat at home or even bother to fix anything Im on the run lol
Jean so sorry for your problems with the Sleeve. One of the ladies in my support group had one a yr ago and she said her hunger has never left her and if she eats anything with sugar she dumps. She told me the other day if she had known it was going to be like this she would have never gotten it done . Hope things get better for you as time goes by . Guess there is no perfect weight loss surgery out there yet.
Not doing much today . Taking a day off from exercise and got a football game tonight .

Dinner homemade enchilada on low carb high fiber tortillas .
Snack probably grab some of hubby's chips and nachos at the game
