If its that time of the month I cant keep anything sweet or salty in the house because I will eat it .    Other times I do okay maybe not perfect but okay .

Im more like Kate   and her ways of thinking

   I was never a sweets eater to begin with so having sweets around the house dont trigger anything for me , unless it's that time of the month and I can eat chocolate  or sweets like there is no tomorrow .

I thought having soda around the house would bother me , I was a huge Pepsi drinker , but I have bottles of 2 litters sitting around the house all the time for the kids and I have no desire to drink it .  I just dont like it , its way to sweet for me yuck .

I guess I am lucky I dont have problems with sweets like many of you do and have to keep it out of the house .

This week its about that time of the month and I cant find nothing to eat to satisfy me and that always leads me to grazing to much .   The healthy foods just dont get it  , this time of the month lol

 

Pizza is my sweets.  I will sit there and eat pizza when I know I shouldnt be eating it , and I cant keep leftovers in the house.  Pizza has and always will be my downfall food.

I will do this challenge also.  I am in the same boat.  Eating healthy ,  doing Zumba four times a week and havent lost a single pound in  2 1/2 weeks .

I am so upset by this and when I get this way I get myself off track and do things I shouldnt be doing .

My doc is like Pines.  He said its not good for the body to go below 1200 a day especially when you exercise.

Carol if you can drink it and it dont become a problem for you then there is nothing to worry about .  I love Sprite Zero I drank that alot and Pepsi .

I usually have about five different kinds of soda always here at my house for the kids that run in and out 7 days a week and it dont bother me .

I just got use to drinking my Walmart Cherry Limeade water that is all I drink now and Ice tea about once a week on bowling night.

As long as you dont start abusing the Sprite and drinking that in place of your water , then enjoy your Sprite Zero there is nothing wrong that :o)    IF you start seeing yourself drinking more of the Sprite then your water then get rid of the Sprite dont get back into bad habits again.  Like I said one of the girls always drinks about two Diet Cokes a day but she makes sure her water is also .

She never lets her go flat she just pours it over the ice and drinks it .  The carbonated drinks have never bothered me .

My doctor told me the reason why they dont want you to have them is they are full of nothing but sugar and calories that we dont need.   He never said I couldnt have it , but he did say why waste your calories on something like that .

I havent had a soda in over two yrs now and dont miss it all to be honest.  I take a little sip of hubby's here and there if we are out and I am thirsty , but to be honest its so sweet and taste like poo poo now that I dont even think twice about it , and I have 2 littlers of soda all the time at my house for the teens that run in and out all the time lol.

 

But, when I am out on our boat in the summer I do drink carbonated alcohol and think nothing of it .   I know a few people that has had their bands for over 4 yrs now and drinks at least 2 diet cokes a day and their bands are fine , I personally dont get into all the hype that it will damage your band , I just dont believe that .   I believe the doctors tell you that stuff so you wont drink it , because you shouldnt be drinking it to lose weight . That is just my opinion though lol.

And no I dont believe at all it stretches the pouch I think its a scare tactic  used by the doctors

I have the type of body that if I dont eat healthy and exercise and I mean exercise no fluffy stuff  that is the only way I can lose weight . 

It dont matter how little I eat, how healthy I eat if I dont exercise I wont lose end of story .  I just cant eat healthy or the little amounts and the weight just falls off . Never been like that and even after WLS its not like that.  I still have to work just as hard .

 

The longer we get away from our surgery date the easier it is to slip back into bad habits been there done that .  Speaking from experience here just this week I had to come clean with some friends on here about things  ( no band problems ) and once I went back and read my post I can see where I have been struggling.

Like they told me you just have to get up and start doing it , thinking about it isnt going to get you no where.  I went back to my first Zumba class after missing it for months on Monday and then I went back last night again .   Once I got there omg did it feel good to get my butt and exercise again.  I forgot how much I enjoyed it .  I was going to go  night but monthly  female problems is keeping me away tonight , but I will be there again on Monday night.

Like another poster said if you cant get at least 4 -5 oz of protein in a meal then you are way to tight and that can be more dangerous then you know .   My doc always told me if I cant sit down and eat a healthy reasonable meal then I have to much fluid in our bands.  Reasonable to him is protein, veggie and yes even a carb .  That is my doc though.

 

I just started fresh again this past Monday after getting my head together and the support from caring friends on here .  Start exercising again, no excuses just do it ,  start tracking your food . I use Fitness pal on my phone and scan everything I eat ,  have fruit, or veggies around if you get hungry its better to eat that stuff then picking up a bag of chips ( I am very bad about that ).  

Its so easy to slip back into bad habits, its easy to eat around the band ( been doing that for a yr now  *sigh* ),   just start doing it , the motivation will come when you see the numbers on the scale go down.

 

Also speaking of scales.  Im sure everybody has noticed when they are no****ching their weight they could care less about the scales I am so damn guilty of this its not funny  !!  , But when we are watching what we eat, exercising , we come obessed with the scales !! Dont let the scales run you .   I think that is alot of problems to.   I am a slow losser and I get very upset when I get on the scales and dont see numbers go down.  I get mad, I get discouraged, I get to where I will eat things .

I am doing it another approach this time around .  As long as I know I am eating healthy , exercising the weight has to come off.  This time around not going to let the scales ruin me .

Good luck its hard to get back on track after you have been off track for a long time, but you will never get back on track if you dont start making them first moves .

Im doing good not great but good . Holding steady lol.  I did really good at Disney though. I didnt say no anything ate all the bad foods but within my limits and still lost 12 pounds in 6 days.  I love Disney  lol.  I told hubby I would move down there just to get season passes just to walk around .

I got myself into not doing any Zumba though . I have been to one class in two months :o( .  Just Disney and then three weeks later it was Christmas and we know how it goes.   Once you stop exercising its a witch to get yourself going again.

 I am starting back tonight though and going back Mon, Wed Thurs and Fridays again .  Once I get back into that the food will fall into place. 

 

Food has been okay , I am eating alot of things I shouldnt be eating.   Not being picky like I was right after surgery .   I need to get back into being picky again lol.

Once I start exercising again I will be okay . I work out so hard at Zumba you dont want to blow what you did by eating bad .

Other then that doing really good no complications, no nothing band wise problems just Steelerfan problems not getting her head in the right place to do it lol.

People are not going to post on this board because of all the arguments he said she said, your surgery sucks, this one is better, sort of things.

If I was a new person that just had surgery i sure wouldnt come to this board,  I will not recommend this board to anybody past or future lapbanders.

The damage has been done and nothing is going to change it.   

This board can be down right nasty and hateful and I mean hateful .  Full of arguments, full of name calling .  Not to long ago you couldnt read a single thread without some sort of fight starting out .

Why would people stick around for stuff like that .  

I come here twice a week to read certain posts and that is all ,  I just dont feel the need to post here anymore with accomplishments or struggling . 

 

Im sure if any of the long term vets see this they will probably say the same thing .  They let this board get out of hand and did nothing about it and this is what happens you run off people.

Lunch   chicken , green beans, cottage cheese

Dinner   grilled chicken salad (bowling alley)

Exercise   Zumba this morning and bowling tonight

During the week I pretty know what I am eating especially breakfast and lunch because its usually the same thing .  Dinner pretty much that morning .

Now, I wing it on the weekends and especially if hubby is home because I fix what he likes to eat , (  he works away from home during the week )or we are busy doing things and we go out to eat

Weekends are always rough on me .  Hubby is home, kids are in and out, and I have no Zumba .    I dont know what we are eating till its almost time for that meal .

Good morning all !!

Zumba was cancelled this morning and debating if I want to go tonight's class or not . Steelers play tonight and would like to watch the pregame show not sure what I will be doing .   I will probably be lazy and skip it tonight knowing me lol. Im tired and sore today anyways.

breakfast   sausage, egg and cheese burrito on low carb tortilla shell

Lunch
  hambuger patty on lettuce leaf,  cottage cheese and some green beans.


Dinner   not sure my son has his football dinner tonight and dont feel like fixing a big meal.  it will either be a perfect portion chicken breast  or leftover chilli . Probably the leftover chilli so I dont have to throw it out .

Snacks   I bought some of them Special K Popcorn chips think I will have some of them during the game tonight to munch on .

Brrr is it cold today !!! We went from a high of yesterday of 79 down to a high of 50 today !! dang what a change and I got the sniffles from sitting outside for the game last night .

Breakfast none just woke up about a hour ago late night last night


Lunch   a Ruben sandwich I haven't had one of them forever and going to toast it on my Panini

Dinner  chicken breast lightly coated in Italian bread crumbs,  broccoli slaw, and a few homemade mashed potatoes

Exercise  none today .

Have no idea what the kids will do today but it will be loud whatever they do lol

Been a busy day getting ready to head out the door to my sons football game. It's a hour and half away and hubby isnt home tonight so I am so hoping I dont get my dumbass lost lmao !!!

well went to the store and got the so called "teenage food"" I got  soda , chips and halloween oreos !!

All I can say is thank God my period started this past Monday and my cravings for sweets are gone lol .

The only thing I will have temptation on is the chips going to try my hardest to stay out of them

was at 300 pm my son had to eat before he left he wanted Shrimp alfredo pasta and garlic bread.

I had a small slice of garlic bread and a little bit of the Shrimp Alfredo.    Havent had that many carbs in three weeks .   Garlic bread was okay not the best so have no desire to eat anymore of it and I love garlic bread .

I hate that week before your period !!! I can do so much damage that week if I don****ch it .

What makes it really hard for me is nothing satisfies me ., its like I am always hungry and it sure isn't for grapes and nanners lol

Plus I can put on anywhere from 8 to 10 pounds of water for a good two weeks and I have to try to stay off the scales which is hard to do , because I will get frustrated and on top of being a cranky mood PMS girl I will hit the bag of chips *sigh*. 

I really hate PMS Lol

I forgot to tell you thought Kath, if its a week before my period, and during my period the first two days I will eat anything that is sweet.   It's a very dangerous time to keep anything sweet in my house .  I found that out the hard way two months ago   I was craving sweets and there sat cream fille donuts and lets just say I had my fill of them in two days   

When it starts getting to close to that time I will have everything out of my house even the ice cream that I dont touch .   My husband cant live without his Ice cream as for me its not a first choice food stop for me lol expect when it comes to my period .

Sweets are very dangerous that time of the month for me .  Thank God !!!

I am so glad I am not addicted to sweets like you are Kath that would be hard to deal with .

Yep Kath I have truly never been a sweets eater and neither is my family.  I swear I have made 8 cakes in my life and that was all for Michael's football dinners on Thursday nights the last four yrs .

My mom never did keep cookies, cakes and things like that around our house .  She did on special occasions but it just wasn't a big deal.

My hubby loves macadamia white chocolate chip cookies. I made about two dozen the other day thinking between him and my son they would eat them and I would probably eat one , but I ended giving them to Michael four days later and taking them to school they just wasn't getting eaten around here .

My son is having a bunch of kids over this weekend so went to the store and bought tons of soda which I dont care about haven't had a glass of it in two yrs but what will bother me is all the bag of chips , that is a demon for me sometimes especially if I am one of my moods .  So  I will have to watch myself this weekend because I can sit down and eat a whole bag throughout the day . 

Pizza I will stuff myself on that , that is a bad bad food for me that is why I do only have it once a month or at least try to *sigh*.   That is one food that I will make myself a pig on and I will eat it all day long if its here .

My biggest problem with my weight my whole life is not the sweets but the good food at meals time or it was eating out two times a day and eating the most fattening foods and coming home and plopping my butt down in front of the tv with chips

AT least with the band now it does control my portions I cant eat like I use to , and as far asfast  food goes I feel guilty eating it now we probably hit a fast food joint every two weeks if that and sometimes it might be a month till we eat out and its not Mcdonalds or Wendys its a nice sit down dinner.

But I am tempted every day for pizza I had to stop myself from buying one today for the weekend . I love my pizza

My son never got into Halloween for some reason .  We never made candy a big deal around our house we just really never kept in the house we are not candy eaters (except that time of the month and chocolate and chocolate lol )

But he has only been trick or treating twice in his lifetime and he is 17 now . 

I just look at the price of bags for candy and that is enough for me not to buy any of it .  Anywhere from 8 to 12 dollars for bags of candy no thanks .

When I want some I just get a candy bar and split it with my son or hubby.

As far as cake , cookies, candy we dont eat that stuff either. I can buy cupcakes and they will go stale before anybody eats them and the same way with cake.    I just had to throw away half dozen of chocolate cupcakes .  ( I only bought them cause of the cool Steeler decorations on them lol )  my son did eat one and I did to but the rest nope.

Now our problem in the house or I should say my problem is chips .  I do love my chips.  I still buy them though because my son and hubby does eat them and they dont have a weight a problem . My son is very active outside the house ,and I always have kids staying the night at our house .

75% of the time I do good not eating them but I do have my moments lol . Weekends are my weak moments if I do eat them.


I am very lucky I have never been a sweets eater.   I guess because my mom never made that stuff or kept that stuff around the house when I was growing up and I dont keep that stuff here very often for my family.

My whole problem was overeating at meals and not getting off my lazy bum to exercise .

I am so thankful I am not addicted to sweets like some of you all talk about gosh .  Give me a pizza instead and I would be happy lol

Not much going on with me today going to kick back and relax some after a busy week of Zumba. 

I hope things get better for you Jean I was reading another post of yours and said you couldn't eat this or that .  I hope you dont have to give up those foods forever I know how much enjoy your yogurts and stuff like that .  

  Exericise Already got my Zumba done for the day yeah !! Love my morning Zumba classes its over and done with .

Breakfast   was craving a salad .  I made me a salad with mushrooms, tomatoes, mozz cheese, a little bit of diced ham, banana peppers , and few sprinkles of bacon bits .  Boy does it taste good !!!


Lunch another salad like breakfast and going to add a pork chop

Dinner  left over pork chop from dinner last night, green beans, and cottage cheese

Snacks   trying to cut out the snacks but if I do snack maybe some popcorn or grapes or milk and cheese lol . 


Tomorrow I have to go to the store and buy teenage foods.  I got a house full of boys staying over Friday though Sunday and we know what teenage boys like .

Today is a little better at least the cramps are gone , but still tired always tired the week I am on my period . I just feel like doing nothing lol .

Breakfast ---  two scrambled eggs with crumbled turkey sausage and melted cheese

Lunch      chicken breast with melted cheese and mushrooms on top,   cottage cheese and green beans.

Dinner    pork chop with southwestern three cheese coating ,   veggie of some type , and a little bit of mashed potatoes


Exercise   60 min of Zumba

I love Disney we go about every two yrs .  We are getting ready to go back Nov 22nd for six nights and seven days and then take a couple days and go to Sea World.

We will be missing the Grand Opening of the new Fantasy land by one week :o( .  So I think hubby and I are going to make a trip next yr to see the new park edition .

My mouth is watering for one of them turkey legs lol

It's such a busy day today with homecoming and getting things done and going there and here for pictures so its grab on the go and eat what you can.

Breakfast   none

Lunch about 6 chicken nuggets (  I know not good but at they was made at home I snitched them off my son's plate while running out the door )

Dinner I have no idea I know not very good but to be honest  it will probably be some of them wing dings (chicken wings ) at Walmart or one of the deli pizza's .   

Just one of them days dont have time to eat at home or even bother to fix anything Im on the run lol

Jean so sorry for your problems with the Sleeve.  One of the ladies in my support group had one a yr ago and she said her hunger has never left her and if she eats anything with sugar she dumps.  She told me the other day if she had known it was going to be like this she would have never gotten it done .  Hope things get better for you as time goes by .  Guess there is no perfect weight loss surgery out there yet.

Not doing much today . Taking a day off from exercise and got a football game tonight .

Breakfast 
  scrambled eggs with turkey sausage

Lunch         not sure whatever sounds good

Dinner       homemade enchilada on low carb high fiber tortillas .

Snack probably grab some of hubby's chips and nachos at the game
