LONGING TO BE! :)
Hello,
My name is Shari and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio. I had the lap band surgery Feb 2, 2006, gall bladder surgery July 13, 2006 and most recently Feb 2, 2007 had a diaphgragmatic hernia. Needless to say my lap band has been removed due to incarcerated stoma*****hest cavity so much of my stomach was not viable that my doctor gave me a vertical sleeve. I have lost a total of 75lbs. On the lap band I lost 50lbs and so far on hte vertical sleeve 25lbs. I would love to lose 50 to 60 more pounds.
My title longing to be means I am currently working in the accounting field as a Senior payroll specialist. I am longing to be a LPN and maybe go on to become an RN. I was scheduled to start classes this July M-Th from 4:30pm until 9:30 pm I had all my requirements until they made a recent change on have to take the TEAS test. Due to my illness I did not have time to meet the deadline and have to wait another year in order to start LPN school.
I am so glad I happened to fine this message board and hope to hear from someone
about their experiences in nursing. Forgot to mentioned I am 45yrs old married with a 17yr old daughter. I am so glad I have lost weight and I don't feel like I am to hold to start a second career. I think GOD had a plan for me to heal myself first before learning how to heal others. My daughter is interested in Nursing as well she wants to become a foresic nurse.
I hope this board post more and share their weight lost as well as nursing experiences!
Good luck to us all
