Well Hello Fella's, Sorry i haven't posted in a while but life is crazy. I have gone back to work fulltime and my kids are playing basketball 5 days a week, sunday's i usually go ice fishing or whatever i can do to keep busy. The weight has been going good for the most part, i fluctuate between 244 & 252 but i think that is because of the fluid in my legs. I found out last month that i my veins have closed up so the blood in my legs does like a reflux. so on Febuary 16th i am going in to have a surgery to open up my veins on my left leg then a couple weeks later to do my right.... I am so happy with my success & greatful to the people who have helped me along. The other day i got up on my roof to shovel it off. "HOLY **** WAS I NERVOUS" but another check off of my list...So even though i haven't posted i still think about you guys and hope everyone is doing well. OK well here's the numbers!!!

Highest Weight - 544-----292 pounds lost since

Surgery weight - 457-----205 pounds lost since

Lbs. lost this week: 0
Total loss from start weight: 118 LBS.!!

Nothing doing on the scales this week- I totally expected it. I had a few decent workouts this week and I am feeling and looking better as a result. I am looking at another good workout this morning- snow shoveling!

I have my 6 momth labs appt. at Tufts this Thu. They always encouraged me to load up with questions for the surgeons assistant. Do any of you guys have suggestions for Q&A when you were 6 months out? Let me know.

I will definitely be experiencing some downtime today between 3 and 6 p.m. GO PATS! That is all.

Highest: 407 lb
Surgery: 5/17/10
Last week: 180.2 lb
This week: 177.6 lb
Loss this week: 2.6 lb
Total loss: 229.4 lb

It's hard to believe that I dropped 2.6 lbs this week when I felt that I had not, been as aware of my food choices as I should have been. However, as I've said before, I guess the loss will end when it ends..whenever my body is where it wants/needs to be.

Have a good week guys.

Steady as she goes, another 3 pound loss this week. I am almost back to my sports playing weight from high school. I was around 260-265 until I broke my ankle my junior year playing baseball. That is what started my weight gain and I have rarely been below 300 since. It has taken me 19 years and RNY, but I am almost there and it feels amazing.

Yes!

Hopefully this means the stall is over. I stayed at 345 for 11 days and then lost it all the last few days.
On the other hand I just had my second shot of "man-juice" yesterday. So I guess we'll see in a few days if the sodium thing kicks in again, or if I just beat a stall.
Any its good to feel that I have developed skills and determination to ride out a harder time. One of the gifts of massive weight loss is the self knowledge that you can do anything that you set your mind to.

Thanks for the support guys.

Have a great week you losers.

Morning Gentlemen:
It was a pretty good week. I didn't exercise as much as I usually do because we had an abundance of snow in our warm part of Canada. But still I tried to keep busy. This was a really good eating period for me: keeping my portions small, staying away from the bad stuff, and generally being good. I am so happy that I am off insulin - major victory!

So this week I am down 3.25 pounds - much nicer than the 1 or 1.5 I have been doing lately. I am not in a big rush to lose my weight, it is just that I am much slower than my weight loss friends. Kind a makes me feel like the last one coming in on a race.

Have a great week guys.

Scale has been hanging between 284 and 285 all week.  Welcome to my first stall since the three week stall!  Kinda sucks, but I'm ok with it.  Been having a great week in spite of the stall.  Been kicking butt at the gym and work has been very busy all week.

All in all a good week.  the only way it could get better is if there was an actual loss on the scale.  However, that will come with time!

Have a great week everyone!

Wow, finally in the 250's.  6 more pounds and I'll hit the big 100 lbs lost.  That has been a goal for a long time. I'm really gonna hit it hard this week to try and lose 6 lbs by Sunday. I'm feeling pretty good and have good energy. I still get light headed when I bend over though. Not quite sure why.

One thing I could use some help on from any of you that have experienced this--I started losing my hair these past two weeks!  I could care less about how it makes me look, but it does concern me that I am screwing up on my protein intake or something which could lead to bigger issues?

Have a great week guys--Bill

Hair loss is part of it.  Biotin is an OTC that helps with hair, skin and nails.

I got my SCUBA certification three years ago while on vacation in Maui.  I LOVE IT!!!!  One of my favorite things in the world!  I am planning a trip back to Hawaii this summer and will be spending as much time as possible underwater.

Best of luck.  It is awesome!

 This Week's Stats (lbs):

313.2: This Week 1/23/12 -->  0.2 Pounds Lost  this week - BMI = 39.1
193.3 lbs Total Weight Loss

Did a little too much celebrating over the past week and the scales show it with literally no movement.  Had a fraternity board of directors meeting in Boston on Saturday which led to lunch and a few adult beverages with some old buddies afterwards.  Then went to a game night whi*****luded grazing Saturday night and led into an all day Sunday event to watch the Patriots beat the Ravens.  I tried but the temptations and euphoria of the weekend got the best of me.  Was happy to get up this morning and see that I was down 0.2 pounds for the week.  Phew!!

I am starting a new beginner 5K program this week ( http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_4/142.shtml ) and have already done the C25K and the pre-requisite 4 weeks of 14 miles so feel good about beginning this.  This will lead me directly into the BAA 5K in April.  My first 5K so I am looking forward to it.  My one year anniversary is coming up on February 7th and I was hoping to be under 300 pounds.  I guess its not impossible but the reality of the situation and given my few lbs a week weight loss (at most) is probably unlikely in 15 days...  Oh well, I'll get there but not in that timeline.  I still feel thinner and stronger than I have in years, if not my adult life.  Amazing how much energy I have and life is so much easier with nearly 200 lbs off of my body.  Its hard to imagine living life walking around with that burden on your body.  I am thankful every day for having WLS.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great week and once again...  Go PATS!!

355 Highest on 8/1/11 as I started the program
323.x Surgery day, 9/21/11

1/16/12 - 250.2
1/23/12 - 247.8

2.4 pounds lost this week!!  Finally started moving down again, it has been pretty slow since the New Years.

I have to admit I need to hit the gym more and graze less!!

On the personal front, was a really neat day yesterday, shopping for new clothes!!

Picked up 3 sports coats that look great / off the "normal" rack at Kohls!

Went to the Harley Dealer and bought a nice riding jacket with armor, and I fit in an XL  !!  That is huge for me, I never really could wear their stuff before, even their 3XL stuff ran small and I could not wear their jackets.

Finally, my feet, I went from a 10.5 EEE (Wide) size to a 10 medium!!
