Hi All,

Question for you all. I'm 2 weeks out from my surgery and I'm wondering if you all have any good

food options you could suggest. I got all clear after day 10 post op visit to move on to semi soft foods. So far all I've tried

are tuna and cottage cheese. I seem to be able to handle that. Other then that I have my protein shake in the morning and sugar free jello and puddings and water lots a water. I'm down 31 lbs at this point pretty happy with that. I"m sure this will slow down soon, but for now it's pretty sweet only a 140 more to go.

My biggest suggestion would be to follow those foods that your doctor provided to you in a list prior to having surgery. It's easier to follow the routine then to try and change it all up and make it your own in the beginning, and no the weight loss does not have to slow down or stop if you start adding some exercise to the process, which is also a requirement by most doctors that do the surgery.

You cannot replace a good exercise routine for keeping your weight loss moving in the right direction. You will need to weight probably another 6 weeks to do any hard exercise, but walk, walk, walk, and just when you think you have walked enough, walk more.

It worked well for me, and I am a few months from being 3 years out from surgery, and I exercise 6 days a week in some form or fashion.

I remember a lot of refried beans and cheese. 

Like Jay said follow your Doc's plan, strap in and enjoy the wildest ride you could ever take!

Make or have someone make you a few hard boiled eggs...Egg salad.  Add some salt and pepper, a small amount of low fat mayo.  Maybe put in some finely chopped spinach leaves.  Also chicken salad...finely chopped.  Which surgery did you have?  That has a lot to do with what you can eat.  Brian

Hi and welcome,

 

Greek Yogurt, Deli Turkey, Cottage Cheese, Baked Fish... anything soft and high in protein. My ATF was and still is a Burrito in a bowl: Grilled Chicken, Black Beans, Salsa, Shredded Cheese and a little dab of Sour Cream... Yum.
