So, I am back!  I was out of town last weekend, visiting my brother in California.  Had a great time.  Went sailing for the first time.

I am pretty sure my body is happy where it is, weight-wise.  No matter what I do or eat, no matter my exercise level, I stay between 208 and 213.  I am happy here.  I was shooting for 200, but I am happy.  May have to just resign myself to being in "maintenance" and move on with the ticker...

Glad to be back, see ya later!

Brian - I am very sorry.  I pray for your family.

Back down to 209.8 (Same as week before last).  I am beginning to think this is where my body wants to be.  I am happy as heck with it as well!

Since the weather in Houston has been so awesome lately, I am spending a lot of time outside, and on my bike.  I am about to head back out again.

See ya!!!!

Charlie here. I would say I am a contributor. I would be a lurking contributor, but I stay too busy to get on here every day. Instead, I get on a couple times a week (Sunday being one of them) and post when I think I have some thing to offer.

Also, I am one of the few VSG'ers on here...

Agreed.  That is how I felt when I found this board.  Now I don't go anywhere else.  Got bored with all of the wading through the estrogen in the VSG forum.

Ask your questions, you will get the answers/opinions you seek!

I don't know if I am stalling at this point, or if I am done losing.  I would like to lose another 10 lbs and hang around 200, but I am quite happy as well where I am.  I have been back in the gym and having a good time with that.  Knee is still giving me some trouble, but nothing that I can't soldier through.

Been a busy couple of weeks, and doesn't look to be slowing down anytime soon.  I am quite happy about that.  I am loving the fact that I stay busy now, and not just sitting around in the air conditioning watching TV.  With the weather cooling down, (Texas cool, not normal cool) I expect to be outside a lot more!!!

4.6 Lbs lost this week! Back on the way down!!! I think I had a perfect storm going there that I finally got through. First, I think I was in the midst of a mini stall. Then I injured my knee, taking me out of my cardio routine for over a month now. Finally, I am so happy where I am, I don't really care as much about my "goal" weight as I once did, so I got a little too lax and loose with the diet.

However, I am back on the wagon and losing again. I got my diet back on track. I did some bike riding this week. Things are moving in the right direction again. 9.8 lbs to go!

Have a great week!

Another uptick this week.  Lots of things to blame (Me being the common thread):

-Haven't been exercising due to knee injury (but it is healing!)

-This week was our 11th Anniversary so we splurged on dinner and desert last night - was holding steady for the wee****il dinner last night

-I have been SO hungry lately.  I don't know if it is head hunger or what, but I feel hungry alot more lately, which has led to some snacking that I shouldn't be doing.

Gotta get my head back in the game and get this last 14 lbs off!

Topic: RE: Let's talk yogurt
I am of no use to your "topic", as I am in a whole different yogurt world.  However, just for my own selfish reasons, I reply anyway:

I don't eat greek yogurt.  Every one I have tried, I have not only not liked, but spit out!  However, I will eat the heck out of the frozen yogurt that they offer at Berrylicious, CherryBerry, etc.  I know they are not good for me, not anywhere close to what my NUT meant when they suggested yogurt, but I love it.  I know it is one reason why I haven't lost any weight in the last few weeks.  (That and I am within 10-15 lbs of my goal)

However, I have made the same observation.  Yogurt isn't horrible for you, but I don't see it as some great food for you either.  Usually pretty high in sugar.  I too prefer the protein bar...  Eat one every morning for breakfast...

Brian - WAY TO GO!

Nothing much to report this week.  Went to the Dr for my knee after the passing out episode.  Still having problems with knee pain which has me out of the gym.  She told me to wear a brace and take anti-inflamatory twice a day for a week and see if that helps.  If not, off for the MRI.  ($2000 out of pocket on my insurance!)

Other than that, had my 1 year follow up on Friday.  Dr was very happy with my progress.  Said I was "PERFECT" and that if I wanted to keep losing, go ahead, but that I looked healthy.  My labs were perfect.

Now I am off to shop for some 36 pants.  Everyone has started telling me my 38's are getting too big so I'll try on some 36's to see how they feel.

See ya next week!

Up 2 lbs this week.  Some poor decisions were made on my part, and add to that the fact that I can't go to the gym, and well, you end up with 2.2 lb gain.  Oh well, this week I have more work to do...

Brian - That sounds familiar.  They never did find anything wrong with me.  I hope all is well, and you either figure out what caused it or end up like me with no more episodes but no answers.  (The knee issue that is keeping me out of the gym is from the wife pushing me down during that episode)

Best of luck guys!  See ya'll next week, if not sooner.

Topic: RE: Shaky
I have a few thoughts...

1.  Dehydration?  Do you get your water in everyday?  I haven't experienced it myself because I LOVE water, but have heard of people feeling shaky, tired, lethargic, etc when they don't get in enough water.

2.  Blood sugar?  Do you have a way to check it at home?  I would check it when you feel shaky and see what happens.  Might be that your blood sugar is low...

3.  Blood pressure?  I am recently out of the ER myself from passing out in the shower.  They don't know what caused it, but the going theory is that my bp bottomed out due to a fever and illness.  That morning I was feeling nauseous and a little shaky before I passed out.  Could be BP?

You and I have the same surgeon.  I trust him completely.  have you checked with him?  See what he thinks?  I am off to see him next week for my 1 year follow up...

As far as protien goes, I have no suggestions for a pill.  I get all of my protien from food.  However, I have grown to really like the "Pure Protein - Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter" protien bars.  They sell them at Walmart, Target, HEB, etc.  They taste good and have a good deal of protein for the carbs.  Might try them out at least as a snack to get your protein in.  (I usually have one for breakfast and then a real lunch and dinner)

Best of luck and hope you figure out what is causing your problems and get it resolved quickly...

Topic: RE: Sunday morning weigh-in, is Summer done edition?
I am ok on the quantity front, that isn't an issue.  The issue is the frequency!!!  Ha!  I don't eat much, and I do the NSA almost every time.  So that isn't bad either.  It is just the fact that it is sooo good and sweet that once I have it, I want it again and again!

2.6 down this week.  Made some very poor choices this week.  Can't explain the weight loss at all.  After the "passing out" episode last week, my knee has been hurting and weak so I haven't been to the gym at all.  Also, my new weakness is frozen yogurt.  We ended up at Berrylicious (self serve frozen yogurt bar) twice this week.  Figured that alone would give me an uptick on the scale...

Heres to another week of being back on track.  Knee has still been a little iffy, but I think I am going to get back to the gym tomorrow with swimming some laps to see how it holds up doing that and then play it by ear from there.  I have to do something.  I am only 10.8 lbs away from my personal goal...

Have a great week!
