196: This Week 5/19/13 -->No Gain/Loss BMI=29

Another week of status quo. Maintenance has it's benefits.  I like stability when my weight stays under 196, basically my Mendoza Line. I also like weighing in just once a week. I have to keep the scale away during the week because of the minor flucttuations that would result in my being CRAZY!!

Going into this week thinking the same, Water, Protein; Journaling and exercise.

In terms of exercise, it was going well.. However due to ankle injury no running but have been biking and swimming and doing weight lifting. Hope to be running again soon.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Another week of status quo. However, I am good with that. When I reflect on the fact that I have lost 150 POUNDS that is pretty friggin amazing.  Plus, I am very comfortable to be at my own personal set weight of 196. Eating was better overall, but could do a little better with some choices and times of grazing.  Still, want to try to be commited to ge stick to basics: Water; Protein; Journaling. Clearly Maintenance requires WORK!

Well a stale mate it is. After gaining 3 last week, happy to be at my own personal set weight of 196. Eating was better overall, but could do a little better overall.Still, want to try to be commit to get back to basics: Water; Protein; Journaling. Clearly Maintenance requires WORK

Well, not happy with the scale today. Actually, not happy with my eating lately.  Making a lot of poor choices and grazing. Need to commit to get back to basics: Water; Protein; Journaling. Do not want to let it get out of hand....as has been the case in the old days.

In terms of exercise, it was going well. I was able to get out and run 5 days. However, yesterday I was doing a run and injured my ankle pretty badly.  Today it is like a grapefruit.  I will have to take a break from running,  but I will try to do some other things to try to not get to sedentary.

 Hope everyone is doing well!

Good Evening,

The Numbers:
346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
193: Weigh In 4/14/13
193: This Week 4/21/13 -->0 pounds gain BMI=29
153:Total Weight Loss

Pretty happy at no gain/loss. Maintenance phase is pretty stable, which is showing me that sticking to the program allows me to stay at or below my goal weight!  Mostly, I feel more healthy than I ever have as an adult!

In terms of exercise, it is going well. I was able to get out and run 5 days. This week I also was able to go to the gym and began doing some body conditioning at the Y. Love working out, especially about how it makes me feel!

I continue to try to seek a balance between a mindful diet and consistent exercise. A goal I will continue to work on going forward!!

Living in MA, this past week was pretty emotionally draining. So many things to reflect upon, but mostly praying that God's love and mercy bring healing to all involved.

Have a great week!

193: Weigh In 4/7/13
193: This Week 4/14/13 -->0 pounds gain BMI=29
153:Total Weight Loss

Pretty happy at no gain/loss. Maintenance phase is growing on me. Unless I make drastic lifestyle changes, good or bad mind you, I am very happy staying South of 196 which marks a 150 pound loss for me and where I feel healthy.

In terms of exercise, it  is going well. I was able to get out and run 5 days. This upcoming week going to try to begin doing some body conditioning at the Y. Not like Muscle Beach stuff, just some toning overall.

I also have been going to some local support groups, which have helped me to keep me focused on staying on the WLS Journey Path...

I continue to try to seek a balance between a mindful diet and consistent exercise. A goal I will continue to work on going forward!!

Good Day,

Glad to see you leading off Brian! Love your post and new normal is a wonderful thing.

193: This Week 4/7/13 -->3 pounds gain BMI=29
153:Total Weight Loss

OK-Confession Time. Ate horribly this week, lot of grazing especially on East Candy (Stupid Bunny). Still I am at 193 pounds...Even now when I write it I am amazed. My goal is to stay under 196 as this puts me at a total loss of 150 pounds.

On a better note, excercise is going well. Today I ran about my 7th 5K race and finished in a Personal Record of 24:52 which was good for 187th out of about 1400 runners in a race in Fall River, MA.

I am now trying to seek a balance between a mindful diet and consistent exercise. A goal I will continue to work on going forward!!

Topic: RE: Easter Sunday Check In

Good Morning Gents,

First, my apologies to Brian, our trusted leader!! I am going to have a house full of family and friends, so wanted to get my check in.

The Numbers:
346: All time high 7/1/10 - BMI = 52
326: Tufts Medical Center, Surgery 12/27/10 BMI=49
192: Weigh In 3/24/13
190: This Week 3/31/13 -->2 pounds loss BMI=28
158:Total Weight Loss

Well like the saying what goes up must come down!! Down a  couple pounds but not surprised as I was more mindful with my eating this week. Tried to cut out some of the grazing I had been partaking in lately.

Excerise is going well. No races this week, but ran on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Never in a million years did I picture myself running, let alone enjoying it!!

For those who celebrate Happy Easter or Passover, to all others Happy Spring!

Hi Tony-First, congrats on the weight loss that is terrific!

In terms of compression clothing, the best is UnderArmor. But way expensive. I got a knock off brand at Marshalls and works great. Shop around and see what feels best for you.

In terms of running, I started to run after WLS. I recently did a half marathon after never being a runner. LOVIN IT!!

Best of Luck!

190: Weigh In 3/17/13
192: This Week 3/24/13 -->2 pounds gain BMI=28
158:Total Weight Loss

Well like the saying what goes up must come down, the opposite true for me as what goes down goes up! Up a couple pounds but not surprised as I ate ok but did not work out as much. Now that I am not training for any races, will have to adjust as needed.

A big part of my accomplishment has been exercise. I have ran several 5K's and a couple of 10K's. Last week I ran my 1st half marathon. Today I did my 2nd 5 mile race. Pretty happy as I finished in 41:05 which is about 8 minutes better than the one I did last November!!

Hoping for some real Spring weather this week...have a good one guys!

Hi Guys,

The Numbers:

195: Weigh In 3/3/13
190: This Week 3/17/13 -->No Change BMI=28
160: Total Weight Loss

AT GOAL...Way back, a little over 2 years ago,  when I started on this journey, I had a goal to get under 200, however my MAJOR  goal was to get to 10 pounds under at 190. Over the last year or so, I had been happy to be under 200, but kept working at it and today I finally reached it! I just want say to all of the contributors and lurkers on this forum,  Thanks for all your support in this journey, as I have been able to stay accountable by posting here weekly. Your experience, strength and hope have helped me tremendously.  Now comes more of a challege...MAINTENANCE!!!

A big part of my accomplishment has been exercise. I have ran several 5K's and a couple of 10K's. But today I did my first 1/2 Marathon.  Here are my official results

Your Time - 2:04:31 Your Chip Time - 02:02:24

Overall Place - 1928 Division Place - 360 Sex Place - 1198 Your pace per mile - 9:31

I wanted to post this specifically not to brag, but to show that when we make our minds up, anything is possible.

Have a great week guys!!!!

195: Weigh In 3/3/13

Status Quo on the scale....Glad to be under 200 in the Onderland zone. As usual, my goal in maintenance is to stay under 200. Aside from that it is to try to do on a daily basis the following: 64 oz water, Mindfully Eat, and Exercise which I did for the most part this past week.

Exercise has been good. I am into my 11th week training for a race next Sunday, St. Paddy's day. Today I did a long run of 9 miles and felt really great...getting excited about my 1st 1/2 Marathon on 3/17/13. I am so very happy to have rekindled my passion for exercising as I have always been active, but alot harder to do at 350 rather than 200!

Have a great week all!!! angry

196: Weigh In 2/24/13

Well, got some more movement on the scale! I am happy to be under 200 in the onderland area. My overall goal as I am now clearly in maintenance is to stay under 200. Aside from that it is to try to do on a daily basis the following: 64 oz water, Mindfully Eat, and Exercise.

Exercise has been good. I am into my 10th week training for a race in March 17th. Today I did a long run of 13 miles and felt really great...getting excited about my 1st 1/2 Marathon on 3/17/13. I am so very happy to have rekindled my passion for exercising as I have always been active, but alot harder to do at 350 rather than 200!!

198: Weigh In 2/10/13
196: This Week 2/24/13 -->Down 2 lb BMI=29

Well, got some more movement on the scale! Even a little over 2 years out I still get excited when I see the scale numbers going down!! Overall, been doing the basics: 64 oz water; Mindful Eating and being sure to log food which for me keeps me accountable on a daily basis(Averaging around 1800 calories and 80 g protein daily) and exercising.

Specifically about exercise it has been good. I am into my 9th week training for a race in March.  Today I did a long run of 10 miles and felt really great...getting excited about my 1st 1/2 Marathon on 3/17/13. Simply amazing considering at one time I would have felt like I was dying if I ran for 10 minutes let alone 10 miles!!!!

Thanks for all the great posts, I love reading them and sharing this journey with a great bunch of guys!

Have a great week all!!! kiss
