financing?

How can I get financing for the Mgb? I need help I'm 360 albs and I'm 5'6. I really want to have this procedure done by this wonderful dr in joplin but I'm having a tough time getting the money for it.
Hi there,

That is a good question.  I have been wanting to get some plastics done and face the same issues.  There are a lot of creative ways to raise money.  Fundraisers, sales, bake sales, and I could go on.  I don't know much about you but maybe your church, if you go to one, can have an event to help you raise money.  I don't encourage people to get loans because that is just more debt but it is an option.

I wish I was more help but life is hard money wise and I think we all struggle with having enough.

I think that the possibility of getting special financing for the procedure is slim to none. You can try programs like " Care Credit"  or  finance companies or title pawns places if you own your title (but please decide whether or not that is a sensible option).   I honestly think that it might be easier to find a job where you are 100% positive that the insurance pays for the surgery and try to get a job there.  I know for a fact that certain state insurances such as NC and VA insurance offer the service thru their insurance.  I work for a City Government in VA that doesn't offer the insurance but I plan to start looking for positions in my field with the state as soon as possible in hope that by the end of next year (2013), I will be in a position where I can have the surgery.  I was offered a job in 3 different states a few months ago and only one of the offers insurance plan offered Bariatric services.  I was not offered that positiion but was offered the other two.  I'm happy with the position that I took but it would have been so perfect if they offered bariatric services.  Maybe it's just not meant for me but I'm now 47 years old,  290 pounds @ 5'4" with sleep apnea and grossly bad knees. My self-esteem is practically non-existent right now and it's affecting every part of my life now when in the past it didn't really bother me.
