To finish or not to finish? Resize?

Okay here's my dilema. I began knitting a lightweight wool sweater last summer for a trip I had planned to take to the UK in October. The trip was rescheduled for April so I can still use it, but I was knitting it for my pre-band size, 2-3X and by April I'll probably be a 1x or even a little smaller. So here's my question to all you knitting bandsters, should I fini**** and downsize it later or rip it out and start over? I'm leaning towards finishing the body and downsizing/taking it up on the sides before I do the sleeves. Your thoughts? Paige.

for me it would depend on how close i am to finishing the sweater. i wouldnt want to start completely over if i was almost done. lisa
