At what stage can you introduce protein bars?

The best advice is never.  Most are no better than candy bars and they've got a lot of processed ingredients.  Better to stick with real, whole foods.

According to my doctor, I was able to introduce them after 6 weeks, when I moved to the full diet phase.  Check with your doctor to see what he recommends.  Some may tell you to never have them, but they're not necessarily bad.  Some people do react differently to them, so even if you can have them, you may find your weight loss slowing or even stopping, or they could even cause you to dump.

I eat at least one Quest bar a day; for me I use it as a sweet instead of eating chocolate or whatever and it works.  It has 1g of sugar in it and lost of fiber, along with 20g protein.  I get all my other protein from shakes/whole foods.  Read bar labels carefully because many do have lots of sugars.  Quest is a good company and another good one is Pure Protein.
