Feeling like I'm failing

I am 8 days post open from sleeve surgery. I am still on liquids, feeling hungry all of the time. I am on a prescription for gas so I'm pretty sure that's not it. I want to eat food so badly. I feel like the more I can't have it the more I want it. I want nothing more then to be successful, I need help, advise, or anything that will get me over this hump. I have been eating some soups so I feel as though I all ready may be cheating.... please help!

I'm still a pre oper so I can't give too much advice except to say that my post op diet says only clear liquids for 4 days then full liquids which does include soup that is strained.

I would call your surgeons office and tell them about this or call your dietitian. I'm not sure how your program works but I have unlimited access to a bariatric nurse when ever something comes up.

The other thing I have learned is that once you get into the soft foods you start to feel full. Don't pu**** because your stomach is still healing and you don't want a leak.

Are you taking a PPI such as prilosec or nexium?  Most often hunger is due to stomach acid.

I see this post was from last month but I just wanted to reach my hand out for a bit of support. Please make sure you are getting your protein in like you are supposed to! Protein shakes keep me SO full. Mix them with some skim milk and ice in your blender. It will feel like you're getting a treat. Good luck! *hugs*
