I haven't lost a pound in 4 weeks.

I haven't changed anything that I can think of.

I'm stuck. What can I do to jump

start the weightloss again. My Vsg was 6/14/16... 240 sw 197 lw 200 cw... I'm eating 3 times a day, mostly protein. I'm slacking on my water though. Could that be it? Dr told me 1000 calories a day and 100g protein. I feel like all i do is eat. Should I start back on protein drinks?

How do you reset your pouch?

Need advice please. I'm walking and doing cardio. Feeling very defeated. Wondering what I'm doing wrong

try doing a search on here of "stalls", youll find lots of tips. I can't really offer anything since im only one week post op, but from what i've seen, not many people eat more than 800 ish when in weight loss mode. and logging every bite! an extra 25 calories here and there adds up quick when you eat as few as we do!

Good luck!

I'm a newbie too, and you might want to post this on the RNY board if you want bigger exposure...

But just yesterday someone was talking about their doctor/NUT telling them to hit 1000 calories, and the biggest responses coming back were this:

  • Keep calories lower, especially early out! ( think it was suggested at 800 calories)
  • Protein forward - kick all the simple carbs to the curb
  • DRINK drink drink your water
  • Do not make up calories for exercise...

I can't remember all of the other things... but I do remember that 1000 calories was too high for where you are.

In your post to the VSG forum, you said that you're eating more than three times a day?

I think you should eat 5 times a day instead of 3 times. Increasing the number of times doesn't cause any harm but will help you from starving. We are strictly told not to starve in order to lose weight. You should have fruits, juices, salads, etc. in between to make you healthy. Also, drink green tea daily without adding sugar. Regular workout will also help you to reduce your weight.

I wonder what you eat every day. If you wanna lose your weight then you have to completely abandon having fatty food and too much non-veg stuffs too. I would suggest you to have GM diet. I've heard a lot of success stories of those who have lost their weight within 7 days.Take a look at it.

A strict GM diet will definitely help you to reduce weight.

most people on here are most successful doing low carb (mostly protein and non-starchy vegetables) and eating around 800 calories a day during the weight loss phase.

I eat fruit as well, but then, I'm not very carb sensitive.  Those who are carb sensitive avoid fruit as well - or eat very little of it - because the sugar in it causes cravings for them as well.

Weightloss phase is different than maintenance. 1000 alories a day on a regular basis for most people is too much to be losing weight. 100g protein is great. My Doc's mantra is: Protein first, then veggies, and then if you have any room, fruit then (starchy) carbs. He never says no carbs, just put them at the end of the list.

Every snack and meal should be protein forward, and dense protein will keep you full the longest. Also don't be afraid of fats, we need that too. Change up your food choices, we can get into a rut.

See the link below for the 5 day meat test...helps you kick carbs to the curb and get back on track...with protein first.

I think you can go for GM Diet.. A 7 days diet plan. Every day there is different diet plan like, 1st day you will have fruit diet, 2nd day you will have vegetable diet, 3rd day fruits and vegetables together and so on. You can search it on Internet, you will get the detailed information.
