I am 3 weeks post-op and doing everything right except getting enough fluids. Every time I take a couple of sips of water, I get a cramp. This doesn't happen w/ protein drink. Anyone else have this problem? Maribeth

I had GPS on April 28, 2005 and water still hurts. My nutritist stated that this happen to many of people because it falls right down unlike other drink which have other things in it that makes it take it time to go down. Don't worry, drink everything else.

Hi Maribeth, This seems to happen with a lot of people. I know that my husband and I both had problems drinking water the first month or so after surgery. Hang in there it does get better. You can try decaff tea, crystal lite, or flavored water. They seem to do better. Good luck. Teresa

I can't drink cold water , needs to be room temp. , if I do real small sips then I hold it in my mouth till warm, but if I drink flavored drinks I need ice? and the protein drinks can be cold. Kim
