“I really like these bars! They and the others in this line (One way, Joyride,Uturn, etc) are all excellent! They do have some real sugar in them so not all post ops may be able to tolerate them so watch for that. “The bar tastes good. But, I don't care for a lot of sweets. I am different from the average sweet tooth craving woman. I like tart and tangy. So, to eat one of these on a daily basis just didn't do it for me. I was able to eat a third of one bar. “I'd been hearing about the Detour bars for a long time, but could never find them. I walked into GNC today and saw boxes and boxes! I tasted one and am now hooked. “Excellent taste, one of the few bars I can eat. I usually only have 1/2 a bar as they are too big to eat at one time. I cut them up in slices, freeze them and have one or two slices throughout the day. I don't count the protein, just hope I'm getting in some extra. “These are touted as snickers on steroids - and hold on to your socks, they are AWESOME!!! They have 6 grams of sugar (sucralose). I do believe, however, there is an issue for the GBP person with protein absorbtion or breakdown from the chocolate coating. I don't think this would be a good source to count toward your daily protein intake even though it does have 32g/bar. “Many compare these to a Snicker's Bar, but I compare these to the Reese's Fast Break without the Peanut Butter. I use these products when I'm going to a Dr's appointment that I am going to be more then two hours at, when I'm travelling down to a support meeting, or just anywhere where I know I'm not going to get a good source of protein.
