“The chewable vitamins are DISGUSTING!!! Chalky, bad taste and bad after taste. If they taste bad, you're not going to take them. I'm searching for something else because I won't start my day off with eating one of these.”

“Just fyi, the website says that the product is lactose free, but the bottles state they have milk. I called c/s after suffering for a few days. I was told that there is note enough room on the label to explain that not all products are lactose free. I drank strawberry, orange creme and chocolate.”

“I did an online order more than a week ago on the Bariatric Advantage website for chewable vitamins and Calcium Citrate. I never received a follow up email or tracking number and have yet to receive my order. I have called the company twice and on both occasions they said they will overnight the products. After never receiving the products I called and canceled my order all together and glad that my credit card was never charged.”

“I have been using Bariatric Advantage Vitamins since two weeks prior to surgery. Products include 2 chewable berry multi vitamins daily, 4 raspberry chewy bite calcium citrate with D daily, 1 chewable 18mg iron daily, and 1 chewable sublingual B daily. My blood work is on target and at 3months post op, my hair is healthy. So Far with these products all is well. ”

“I ordered multi vit's (chewable French Vanilla), calc. cit.(Chewable Mint), Meal Replacement powder (unflav.) and Chewable B-12 (peppermint). The B-12 is on backorder so I have not yet rcvd and have not yet tried the meal rep pwdr. The multi vit in french vanilla tastes GREAT and the calc cit is sort of large and chalky, but doable. I am a little confused that a Barriatric geared company is providing their calcium citrate as "calcium from calcium citrate" I have heard that this is not quite what we need and have to adjust accordingly and take more. In that case, it is not cost-worthy. Any calcium citrate should be listed only as "calcium citrate" on the BACK label. This is an article explaining it. http://www.ehow.com/how_5621233_choose-supplement-after-gastric-bypass.html ”

“I tried my first Bariatric Advantage meal replacement shake today (I am using them once a day right now pre op)and I was quite impressed. I used the vanilla with 6 oz of milk, 4 ice cubes and 1/2 cup of pineapple and it actually did fill me up and tasted pretty good.”

“The surgeon prescribed these shakes for 2 weeks prior to surgery. The WLS program at Sanford health has you meet with a nutritionist who has samples of all of these products (the shakes, chewable vitamins). Prior to tasting the shakes I would have leaned towards the Chocolate and the Strawberry. I find vanilla, well too vanilla. Fake banana taste has to be the worst in the world. After tasting, the vanilla and the banana were the most pleasant. Now that I am home with them and they are my diet, I am really quite pleased. They taste like a treat, they are a bit thick like a real milk shake would be. They keep me full and satisfied.”

“Okay, hold on! I know what you thought when you saw that price! You thought, "Whoa! I CANNOT afford $120!" Well how about making the investment in your health? You spent money on junk food every day as a pre-op, why can't you spend the money for your health and wellbeing now? These supplements taste great. I have the Tropical Multivitamin, the Mint Calcium Citrate... they taste fantastic, and they're absorbed readily by the post-op Bariatric system. Invest in them, take them every day, and feel your energy go up and health change! Buy them! You won't regret it!”

“I purchased a few of their products and was very disappointed. The chewables were WAY too sweet, and the iron actually started turning my teeth an ugly shade of yellow. When I went to my dentist to get my teeth whitened, he was appalled that a company would think it a good idea to create chewable iron tablets. Also, the vitamins started getting sticky after a few days. I live in a dry climate, so I don't know what was going on there, but overall the vitamins were overpriced, and my labs (and teeth) suffered. ”

“Some people really rave about the chocolate flavor of the chewable calcium, but after 3 weeks of trying, I can hardly choke them down. This doesn't contribute to compliant vitamin-taking. I would love to skip them all together. I might try one of the other flavors (cinnamin or mint) because the format of calcium is the best for WLSers. I am in awe of those who consider these supplement "treats" because they make me gag! ”

But now, I am getting in all my vitamins with ease, and I actually look forward to taking them as they are my "candy" for the day LOL Here's a list of what I am taking: Chewable Multi-Vitamin (2X/day), Chewable Chocolate Calcium Citrate (4 - 5X/day), Sublingual B-12 (1 - 2X per week), Iron Citrate (1 to 2/day).”

“A few things different about these bariatric vitamins, they have a calcium citrate lozenger that you can either suck or chew- They also have a form of iron citrate that is an iron chelate which doesn't cause stomach discomfort. The iron is taken separately from the multi, and I like that. The multi has every ingredient I am looking for. The company is constantly refomulating and doing studies and working closely with bariatric patients so their formula may change as new research is discovered. I like that too. That way I know I am getting high quality vitamins with the latest greatest research. I must admit though I am a fan of another brand of vitamins also, TwinLabs who makes a chewable calcium citrate that can be purchased in most health food stores also. But this lozenger is also a great thing.”
