Hi again, so my daughter who has recently approached me about her desire to be a model had her first photo shoot today.  After the shoot she didn't want to stop so we grabbed our camera and hopped in the car to take some pics .... would you guys support her website portfolio on blog spot by subscribing ... link is in my signature below, check out her pics and give us some feedback.  I want to help her follow all her dreams .... she's a great kid! .... How old is she and what kind of modeling does she want to do? She looks very mature in her poses.

She's 10 and wants to model clothes mostly I think.  She posed mostly on her own .... girls these days know how to do this from watching tv .... top model, idol, xfactor ... all those shows show photo shoots .... Her #1 favorite thing to do is Hockey though.   She does look much older than 10 though you are right about that.

She is gorgeous. I think I am overprotective - lol. I would have guessed 15.

 I think she's very photogenic and a very pretty young lady!  I wish her luck!

First of all, what a beautiful girl! Truly! SHe has such beautiful eyes...

And my favourite thing about her site is where she says "My Mom is monitoring this site, so no creeps please..."

 Ya creeps are a huge fear of mine with her getting into this .... I want to support her and you know what we as women and girls have such short and fleeting moments when we feel truly beautiful and she is in one of those moments now, I want her to enjoy feeling beautiful and this moment ... because that feeling doesn't always last long.  .... I am protective we've had the talks about never being alone, never trusting or talking to strangers online ... always know what's going on around you and where your exits are ... I guess all the stuff my mom taught me.  We had such a fun afternoon, stopped for hot chocolate and coffee, hung out and laughed.  She was really happy today and I love more than anything to see my kids happy...

 Thank you ... I was kinda expecting to be jumped all over for this post.  It's her life right? Who am I to stand in the way of her dreams even if I myself have some reservations about it.  She's a good kid, very kind, respectful and smart ... she kicks ass at hockey ... puts the boys to shame for real.  All of these things make her truly beautiful.   Besides she's a kid after all ... this might only last a week ... LOL

Well that's the thing, this could be just a phase but if you don't give her the chance to try new things she might be resentful. Sounds to me like you are being a great mom!

Hi Micki! River is such a pretty girl - I love some of her poses, especially the first one with her stick. She has such a far-away, dreaming look on her face - makes you wonder where she is in her mind....

Good for you for allowing her to explore this - maybe it will turn out to be a flash in the pan but she'll remember that you stood behind her and gave her your support. Yes, it can be dangerous out there, but as long as you remain very involved, she should be fine. It's great that you two have such a good relationship - that means a lot.

River, you are a lovely young lady. Have fun, stay close to your mom & respect her judgement and have fun with this, for as long as it works for you. Don't be afraid to walk away when it's no longer giving you pleasure.  Good luck with hockey!

How I use to look maybe .... the scale and time comes to steal youth and beauty so quickly.  I had my fleeting moment of beauty and it was awesome.  But it's over now ... LOL

There is a LOT of driving involved!!! I have driven to Montreal and Toronto (from Ottawa) so many times I cant even count!! And all at my own expense....and the photos every year because they change their look....it can get quite expensive!!

Don't get me wrong, Jeremy loves it and does very well. He did a Footlocker campaign last season and he is actually doing a charity fashion show right now. He has modelled for some great designers and been in Ottawa Fashion Week, Montreal Fashion Week and Toronto Fashion Week over the past few years. He has been signed with agencies in Ottawa, Montreal andToronto and New York and Milan are both just waiting for him to turn 16!!!

But yes, get her an agent.

He is actually only 14!!!....the agencies are waiting for him to turn 16 because before that, there are laws against him posing with no shirt on.....he has a 6 pack (and then some) so they are drooling at the door waiting for his 16th birthday!!

She's a beautiful girl now, but she's going to grow up to be stunning.  She's lucky to have your support for her endeavours.

I agree about getting her an agent or agency.  My son too has done print work and even landed the cover of a parenting magazine, but it's true about a lot of driving, and when they are young their pics have to be updated regularly.. of course if you can handle all that than it can be a fun experience and a great way to save money for them.
I don't know where you are located but our agency is Carolyn's Kids and they have done pretty well for us. They are located in the GTA (Toronto area) If you want any info just drop me a line.

Wow, as everyone else said, I am amazed she is only 10.  My daughter is 10 also and even though she is tall for her age looks MUCH younger -  well at least to me LOL.  It sounds like you have a great relationship with her by letting her spread her wings while being the protective Mom in the background. Kudos to you and the best of luck to her!  I think it's great that she's involved in hockey too - a great balance! She is a beautiful young lady with a bright future, I'm sure.
