Suggestion for the best Protein and Mineral Supplements after RNY
I am prepping for post surgery after Feb 10, and wanted to know the best suggestions for Protein and Mineral supplements. I am in favour of the ones with higher protein because I really am not down with shakes that have 10g of prot and having to get down 4-6 shakes a day since I am recommended to have an intake between 40-60 with less than 20g of carbs and less than 5g of fat.
I work security for a health centre and the ladies here are trying to get me to buy Visalus Sciences Vi-Shape Shake Mix. I'm kind of leery of a protein mix who's slogan is "The Shake Mix that tastes like Cake Mix" LOL
I have also looked into Click Expresso Protein Shakes.
I havent looked into the Mineral Supplements at all.
What is your suggestion?
Warmest regards,
Darren

I hear ya.
I took a break from shakes altogether for quite a while but just started drinking them again.
There are many different shakes to have. If you have a "GNC" they have a great variety of powered mixes.
This is the kind (not the size- toooo expensive!) that I have in my cupboard. They sometimes have good sales on, I got the 2lb jugs for $30 each. I got raspberry, chocolate and vanilla. I mostly use it in my baking now.

they mix more like a drink of chrystal light rather than the milky shake variety. Shoppers caries a few and GNC used to cary Whey Kool I have that one lemonade flavor and I mix a Lemonade crystal light and 2 scoups (42g protien) in with it and add extra water and take it tow work each day and it is pretty good. I was gonna try the place on memorial close to Taco time too to see what they have as far as the drinks go they have a pretty decent sized store there I can't remember the name of it though.

Hi Darren,
Are the Visalus Sciences Vi-Shape Shake Mix made with whey isolate protein? That is what you need. As for the Click shakes, I noticed that Eggface has a lot of recipes with that particular brand of shakes. Are they available in Canada or would you have to order online?
Good luck,
Judy
