thanks for your concern Birdiegirl but I tried it without the crust last night and it was delicious and virtually fat free.  It sat very well, and though officially I have another few days on puree, I have been venturing into really well chewed chcken dishes for a day now and am loving them.

I taught my daughter to cook and most of my recipes are fat free or low fat so will do me well as I venture into what I can eat or not.

Thanks for the Father's Day wishes!

Sounds like you have everything under control....good stuff

would love t hear more about this fat free chicken pot pie!! i'm on pureers, and that sounds so yummy!! is it a homemade version, or a frozen store bought?
all the stuff I eat I make. the recipe is at the following link, I elimnate oil and use non stick spray to cook onion and celery, use low sodium chicken broth, don't add salt but a tablespoon poultry seasoning and get rid of the crust for me, so I know my version is tasty but lower in fat and sodium than the listed recipe which has the nutrients listed.

I found cream soups really bothered my pouch, I had dumping once due to them, so I stay away from recipes using cream of anything, which many chicken pot pie recipes use.  Not this one though.

I'm pre-op but practising a bit of post-op eating to start early in the commitment.

B- 1 fried egg, 1 whole wheat toast with a touch of peanut butter

    s- banana

L- Assorted veggies (peppers, cuccumber, cherry tomatoes, carrots)

D- Not sure yet. Don't know if we're doing anything for father's day. If we go out for dinner though, I will probably have a cobb salad or a piece of salmon.

    Feedback please :)

theres not a lot of protein.. can you add some at lunch? or maybe for an afternoon snack?
stacey, the only type of egg I can tolerate is poached, so couldn't do the fired now.  You will need protein with every meal and snack.  the toast and some of the cobb will be rare for the first number of monthes.  I think but I am no expert but am living it.   Eating enough protein and not drinking 1/2 hour before eating or 1/2 hour after is a challenge.  Recommend you start that sooner than later, its not easy (at least isn't for me).

I used to love chocolate anything, can't stand the taste of the choc puddings now, used to love sweet stuff, can't add a sugar free crystal lite or anything to water without disliking the sweetness!  My pouch has rewired my taste buds, at least for now.

    enjoy the ride!  regards, Ian
