    OT Canada's Wonderland

Someone not too long ago posted that they had tried to go on amusement park rides and were told they had to get off. Well, guess what my husband wants to do this summer? I told him I was worried I was too big, but he doesn't think so. I am size 20-22/3x, and weigh 255lbs right now (5'4" ) . Has anyone my size gone and fit on rides????

I am 260ish and I've been on most of the rides!!
Honestly, There are no rides that I dont fit on.. I have yet to have a problem sitting anywhere. I am 5 feet 5 inches 259 pounds. same clothing size as you.

my only issue is I cant go on the thrill rides due to high blood pressure.. they have a sign telling you at most of them to not go on if you're "back injuries, pregnant, high blood pressure etc..."

I was there yesterday - some rides have warning signs on them about sizes - if i remember ill post the sign - i took a picture of it for my wls album - the big coasters are moulded seats with safety devices across your knees - the older ones are like harnesses - i can tell you yesterday was the first time i ever went to a theme park and rode everything with no isssues or worries - it was a promise i made to my step daugther that after i lost my weight we would go - and boy did we go - full day - 10 am - 10 pm .  only problem is that the food is waay overpriced - not much health options except for subway and your not allowed to bring your own food in .

I think you should be ok btw - have fun and tell us all about it

For future reference, we always take a cooler of food and then go eat out in the parking lot.  They have lots of grassy areas (and shade!) to sit in and enjoy your food.  Also, they will let you take in water...which is nice since the drinks are over priced too!!

I made the same promise to my daughter and we are planning a visit some time this summer.  I have gone every year, but mostly just held purses while everyone went on the rides :(  This year I will be the first in line!!

    Hello

I was there and had to get off a ride because the belt would not close. I was 260 and am 5ft 3. It was the most embarrassing moment of my life and I have never tried another ride since. It is one of my goals for the end of summer to return to the scene of the humiliation.

you may not be able to fit the safety harness on. If your husband is a "normal" weight, he might not "get" that you're too big for the rides. Save yourself the embarrassment and self hatred. Do something else.

I went to Marineland at 260 and couldn't get on the rides.  I think it more depends on how your weight is proportioned, not just what the actual number is.

thanks for the posts. I think I'll be ok, but am still going to think about it.

I think if you carry your weight mostly in the stomach/chest...it may be a problem for many of the rides....I will never be able to fit in to the ones that the harness goes across the shoulders/chest...until I'm at least as low as 240.....I'm 5'6"

I agree with Monica as I went to wonderland a few years ago and was not able to fit on a ride it really embarrassed me and made my day a not so fun one
