Dear Fab,

Welcome to the bench!!  angry  angry  angry

I'm glad to hear that your operation went off without a hitch and your recovery is speeding along at home.

One thing I was glad I decided to get at the TEGH pharmacy when I picked up my meds to take home with me was a raised toilet seat.  That definitely helped a lot at first.

I hope you get in a nap or two these first days home and they sure were right when they said, "eating and drinking will be your job - your 24 hour job", for the first while after surgery.  I'm glad to hear you're getting liquids in.  I hope you've found a protein shake or an unflavoured one you can flavour yourself and tolerate.

I use Allmax's Isonatural whey protein isolate - 28g protein, 0g fat, 0g sugar, 1g carbs, and some SF Da Vinci syrup, either gingerbread or peppermint flavour.  I get mine at Popeye's.

Good luck!

Jenn.  :)

I am trying to get in as much as possible.  I can't stand the protein drinks.  YUCK! but that's what I said about Opti and by the end I loved them.  I actually miss them right now.  I have been adding unflavored protein to anything I can and I am trying to stomach the shakes.  I think I got maybe 30g in yesterday.  I will try for more today.  Each day is better then the last. My only problem is that drinking my water hurts.  It feels like a spasm right between my ribs each time I take a sip.  Other liquids are ok just the water.

Glad you are doing so well. You may find you have to try the water at different temperatures. I know luck warm doesn't sound great but you may find it goes down easier.
