Kingston Support Group Meeting - Thurs Sept 5th
Will be there in spirit! My surgery is on Tuesday!
For those that are new and on the fence about attending I just wanted to say it is an amazing supportive and knowledgeable group and you would be really better off for attending.
We miss you Keith and I look forward to hearing how the surgery goes.

Sorry for the delay in my response but I've been crazy busy at work and not online as much as usual. The Kingston gang is a nice mix of pre and post-ops. At any given meeting there can be people who are awaiting surgery, new post-ops and some veterans. We are a very friendly group and everyone is very open to sharing their stories, trials and tribulations. You can ask any questions that you have and get answers or ideas from any number of folks.
I think the best part is being able to share your fears and struggles with people who completely understand. No matter how much support you get from your family and friends, if they haven't actually been obese and walked in our shoes, it's difficult for them to understand the emotions. Sometimes we don't entirely understand them ourselves but it's easier to talk to people who share the same perspective.
We talk about anything that comes up. Sometimes we have guest speakers, clothing exchanges, share recipes, new products we've tried and ideas.
Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. All the best, Muriel
