Hi everyone

how long should the tape stay on the incisions. mine are falling off and I'm taping their ends down and afraid to let them come off. It will be a week tomorrow.

My surgeon said take them off after a week. My advice would be make sure you haven't seen any new bright red blood in a while. I took me off after a week and they looked awesome

Hi Kerry, I tried to email you about the brampton meet.  It didn't go through.  It is tomorrow.  Are you up it?  email me [email protected]

My surgeon said to take them off as they became really loose and definitely at one week.  So nice to shower without them!  I used polysporin ointment on a couple that looked slightly red which cleared them right up in a few days.

Another step in your journey completed.

They told me they should fall off on their own, but if they are hanging by strings it's ok to take them off. I think as long as you're not pulling at the incisions and the tape already wants to come off you should be ok

they told me that too, but these have wanted to come off since while I was in the hospital...... I've been keeping them there by taping over the ends of them  and I'm paranoid of lint or something sticking to the incision  (and well I haven't looked at them yet either LOL)....... I have visions of needing to walk around nekkid tomorrow when I force myself to take them off.

typically they come off on their own ... at the right time ... usually in 1 week.

When I wet for my one week post op appointment the nurse told me to take the strips off.  None of mine had even budged so I  took them off in the shower just to make sure I didn't take any scab over the incision with the tape.

I was told not to worry about this. Geberally, they come off within a week. If you find you are wet and oozy you should have that checked out but if it's all fine - nothing to worry about!

Surgery date is Oct. 17th, 2013 in Ottawa. I was referred to the clinic in September 2012. The person performing my surgery is Dr Amy Neville.
