NSV at 2.5 Years Post-Op

A year and a half ago I joined a learn to run group. I can honestly say I am not a runner, never have been or will be a runner. That being said - I try. It is a big leap from needing a cane to get out of bed in the morning and unable to walk to the corner store. I can walk forever now. Some days 15km when the weather is nice.

I decided it was time to go outside my comfort zone again and try something new. I joined the women's indoor soccer league! It has been 25 years since I played soccer and even then I was a bench warmer most of the time...lol. Well last night was our first game. As luck would have it, of the 10 people on our team only 3 of us showed up. It is a 5 on 5 league so that meant not only did we have zero subs, we played 2 short handed. I played the WHOLE 70mins!!!! I am hurtin' today, but it felt so good to keep up with even the young 20 and 30 year olds.

This journey has been an amazing one and I look forward to more of these great rewards.
