Surgery on the 10th

Hi my surgery is on the 10th. I start the optifast on Monday.

Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, or advice on how to make it through the two weeks? I have a case of vanilla, I heard it's the worst.

What other clear fluids can you have?

Really, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I too have Vanilla and don't care much for it..have been jazzing it up with a tsp of cocoa(approved by my centre) and a 1/2 tsp of decaf coffee crystals..lots of ice and blend it up...Packaging says 300 ml of water but you can put more in if you don't like the milkshake consistency.  I have also just tried the above with a pinch of cinnamon...very good!

What center are you at? I'm having mine at the Finch site in Toronto.

I had surgery there 8 1/2 years ago with Dr. Hagen. Who is your surgeon?

I'm in Thunder Bay...we have two surgeons and the wait time is minimal now.

I mixed mine with decaf tim hortons coffee daily. It was the ONLY thing I found that cut the taste. I tried a bunch of recipes, including cocoa powder, crystal light, flavour extracts etc... Coffee was my saving grace.

My centre allowed for broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello, tea, coffee, water. My centre did not allow for any food, including vegetables.

Good luck!
