Can someone explain what "protein creep" means?

Please! Does this have something to do with having too much protein at once? or is it too little? or too much/little overtime? or having too little and then suddenly having too much?

Thanks

From what I have seen about portion creep, it just means that the portion size can creep up on you so every now and then you need to actually measure to make sure you are not taking more than you should be.  If you are supposed to eat 4 oz and you always eyeball it, every now and then throw it on the scale to make sure the portion isn't creeping up.
