I'm looking at 2 scales. On sale at Candia tire. Both by starfrit.

TheThe function I'm wondering if anyone uses is switching from grams to lb:oz while weighing food. With food on the scale.  one allows this option the other does not.

Opinions?

I like the option to change.  I don't just use it to measure the food I eat daily.  If I buy a family pack of say ground beef, I measure out 1 lb and freeze in 1 lb bags.  I like being able to use ounces or grams or pounds.  For me it's worth having them all.

Well, I'm old enough to keep reverting to grams and oz. so my preference is to be able to switch between the two measurements. Also I like the forums here and if I get out of Ont forum, I pretty much have to be careful how I measure and quantify when I post. So if you get the one the switches back and forth from imperial to metric, you do yourself a world of being understood. Just my opinion. LOL

They both can be switched... it's just 1 you can do it while good is on it (white one ) and the other you have to push a button on the back before you measure any food (red).I csn switch between either it's just that 1 let's you do it either good on it. The other you have to lift up and switch.

Just wondering how many people switch while they're actually measuring something

i bought mine at the giant canadian super store and i have the option to change while the food is on the scale.  Honestly i love being able to change it while foods on it so much easier.

See that's what I was wondering. Aside from that function I like the other one better... it's more compact since it just a thin scale. Easy to put away.

I would go with the white one.  Easy to switch without lifting.  I'm a big fan of making stuff easy...life can be hard

My wonder is how often I'd need to switch.

II like the compact and slimness of the other one. I just think that might be a good function too.

Mine has the option to switch while the item is on and I use it all the time. Spend the extra and get this option. Mine is a Cuisinart, I got an awesome deal on Amazon.
