Are oats/ oatmeal or recipes made with such good for us? I'm thinking of something that could be portable for my increasingly long school days.

I personally find them too high in calories and too nutritionally empty to be worth it. Also, the one time I tried a bit of oatmeal it made me really uncomfortable, rice has the same effect. I guess due to the swelling? Every person is different though.

Yea.. I couldn't see the nutrition side. . But it had been suggested. So I thought I'd see what's thought of it on here.

I have oatmeal once in awhile.  I don't get the instant single serve pouches.  I get quick oats.  I mix 1/3 cup oats, and 1 cup of cold water (the regular recipe calls for 2/3 cup water, I need the extra) and microwave it for 99 seconds.  I also add vanilla, and a bit of coffeemate to the water.  If you wanted, you could use protein shake instead.
