Anyone Who Had Surgery @ Humber

Hi,

I was just reading through the surgery instruction booklet (having surgery Sept 23) It says the night before we should drink a high sugar beverage such as gingerale, iced tea etc.  

Did anyone actually do that????

Hi Tia.  

I had my surgery March 216 at Humber.  I did not drink the high sugar beverage.  I stuck to the Opti only.  Good luck on your surgery.  Humber is a great hospital with great staff.

When I did my pre-op they specifically struck that out and told me NOT to do that.  That booklet is used for other surgeries too.  I would not do it but you could always call and ask.  The nurse was very clear to not do that.  I know of someone else who had the same question and she did not do it either. 

I had mine in April at Humber and did not do that.  My last drink was Opti 

I was also Humber in Jan.  They crossed that part out. I would suggest you DO NOT drink that. :)

I just had mine in July and that must have been blacked out, cause I never read that. All I was told, nothing after midnight. 

Hi Catherine.  It's general info for surgery not specifically for GB. The nurse on your ore screening day with cross that out.
