Surgery date is confirmed, booked my flight and room!

I found out that my surgery date will definitely be February 1st, first thing in the morning.  I booked my flight already and got lucky with a 2 day Porter sale.

I'll be staying with family members the day before surgery, and booked a room for after surgery.  My friend (ex sister in law) is going to stay with me, and her Mom is going to drive me around, so I'm all set.  She's bringing her scrabble game so we can play while i recover (we used to do major scrabble tournaments when we were younger).

I'm also staying with her for the short presurgery visit, on January 10th.  I'm going to go a few days early and then leave right on the 11th because I have to start opti right away if I'm going to get my 3 weeks worth in by Feb. 1st.  It will be so nice to see my nieces and nephew again.

Well, so now it's real, lol.  I'm excited but also scared because I've only had surgery once before...I had my tonsils removed when I was about 3 or 4 years old. That's it. I'm sure it will be fine though, and once I'm knocked out I won't care at all, lol.

Congrats Kathy!!!!!

Feb will be here in no time.  I had my tonsils out as a kid, and gall bladder around 30, and this surgery.  Have to say ....it seemed less painful then gall bladder back then when they still used staples.

You will be just fine....you can fully enjoy the Christmas Season.  Jan will bring you a new way of life with OPTI.  I didn't find it bad at all ( but I only had 1wk) Then just think...by Valentines Day you will be all settled in to your new way of living and well on your way to a new healthier you!!!

Pretty EXCITING !!!

Thank you!

I'm so happy that I don't have to be on optifast over the holidays!  I'm very lucky because a few months ago I was told I would have the presurgery visit in December, which would mean holiday optifast.  I was soooo happy when the dates changed to January and February.

so exciting, but I understand why you are nervous too. As I get closer and closer with each step I too am feeling nervous and excited.

Good luck with all your surgery prep, and especially on the big day!
