Hey all -

Had my behaviourist/dietician apt today....and things just got real.

WOOT WOOT!!  I PASSED!!

Now what? ....

I think I got the standard 4 weeks (till next apt) then 4 weeks (till meeting the surgeon and starting Optifast) with another 3-4 weeks till surgery....but I notice that some people just flew through from this point...

is that normal for most, or the exception?

So excited to be progressing!   SQUUEEEEEEE!!!

Depends on where you are having your surgery. Wait times seem to vary from centre to centre.

I had surgery in Ottawa in December and it was 7 months from orientation to surgery. It could have been 6 months but I had some issues with getting time off at work. I think Ottawa is in good shape right now, with 4 surgeons and seem to be pretty organized. I was impressed, at least.

Good luck with the next steps in your journey:)

That's great news!  So happy for you!  Woohoo!

It took me over 2 years from orientation to even meet the surgeon but I had difficulties with my Vitamin 1 levels and it took ages for that to come up high enough.

You sure it wasn't Vitamin D that was super low?  My A was almost non-existent at one point and one pill for 8 weeks and it was well within the normal range.  My D has never hit the normal range in 4 years and I take 5000 IU daily and still can't get over the magic number. Have never heard of anyone needing that long to get A up before.

Yes, you're right, absolutely.  I was low on A and D, but the D was the problem because it took forever to come up.  I went bike riding almost every day last summer and fall so don't know how it was so low.

I'm sorry you have trouble with it too.

What form of Vitamin D are you taking? I was suggested a liquid form (vit D in liquid coconut oil) to help with absorbency. Put the drops under your tongue to help it go right into your blood stream.

I order dry D from Vitalady. Take it with fattiest meal of the day for best absorption. What is the brand of your drops maybe I will try them.
