Hello Everyone.

Wanted to post a message since the last time I did... I was sick and worried about whether I would have to postpone or not.

Everything worked out fine and I am so glad that it did.

In the morning it will be day 12 of 21 that I have been on Optifast. It's been hard but not as hard as I thought. I am grateful for that. Knock on wood - I haven't had any weird side effects or anything other than a bit of constipation and a touch of a breath change.

The first two days were the worst just because I was trying to get used to the taste and what worked for me and what didn't.

I drink the same everyday. Vanilla with decaf coffee grounds and surgar free caramel flavoring. Chocolate with sugar free raspberry flavoring.

The head hunger has been hard on certain days. Also, trying to find other things to do that involve eating when I am stressed out or bored has been difficult as well. Sometimes I just end up having a cat nap lol.

All in all... I'm surprisingly thankful for this time on Optifast. I'm learning a lot about my relationship with food and I honestly don't think I would have learned these things without doing it.

Take care all.

I'm so glad that you're doing well and feeling better and don't have to postpone surgery.

I'm on day 14 of 21 of optifast and am sick but yesterday found out it's just a cold and I should be better in time for surgery. I was so relieved to hear that.  I'm still feeling crappy so looking foward to the feeling better part :-).

I like my Opti plain, with almost a whole 500 ml bottle of water and 2 ice cubes, mixed up in a shaker cup  If my shaker cup was half an inch taller I could fit the whole bottle of water, lol, but I save the extra two sips for my meds so it all works out.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017
